Why We Like The Space Station Tent

Every base camp out there has at least one Mountain Hardwear Space Station Tent for communication centers, dining halls, hospitals, and sleeping fifteen alpinists of course. Built out of burly nylon taffeta with multiple PU and silicone coatings for waterproof protection, the highly durable Space Station was designed specifically for high altitude and extended alpine expeditions. Fifteen industry-leading Paleria DAC Pressfit poles make sure this tent doesn't bend against wind and storms, and an adjustable partial coverage rainfly works with the perimeter snow flaps to keep the inside dry and comfortable.

BIG ENOUGH

Some of my friends have told me that this tent is not big enough for me and all my gear. I firmly disagree. This all comes down to your idea of BIG ENOUGH there is no such thing. Take what you are given and deal with it. small or big it doesn't matter. Let me leave you with this, big is relevant to you but too small doesn't exist.

No Family

LOVE this tent, Just one problem. Since buying this tent, my life has changed significantly. In order to buy this palace of a tent I had to sell my car, and my family. I can no longer drive places, or tell my kids I love them. But hey, at least I sleep good at night in my 284 square foot tent. Hopefully my family comes back soon!

Plenty of room for a solo hiker

I purchased this tent for solo backpacking trip I did up the PCT. Its a little on the heavy side compared to other tents but plenty of room for my pack and a few extra items if need be.

My name is Jon Glassberg and I am a professional climbing athlete and filmmaker with Mountain Hardwear and I live in Boulder, Colorado. I recently used the Space Station on a trip to Everest to film and photograph professional climbers attempting the mountain. We used the Space Station as our basecamp chill tent and it was pretty much perfect for the job. Big windows that don't fog up, easy ventilation, pretty easy setup and breakdown for such a massive tent and roomy and spacious enough for a lot of people to cram in and cook, eat, do yoga, etc. on a long expedition. I really liked the zip function on the 2 doors and on our expedition we experienced snow, rain, sleet, hail, and just about everything in between without any effect on the tent. I also really appreciated the light colored fabric that soaks up the sun and keeps the space warm during the day on a cold expedition. Pretty much the professional choice for expedition tents on serious trips.
