Meets all needs.

Haven't been able to use it yet, but it appears to be just what I need. And it fits well and allows me to move around, squirm enough.

Nice feature set, good build, runs cold

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
reg/right zip
Height:
5' 7"

Picked this up to replace a fantastic marmot bag I had that went missing after a move. The bag it was replacing was 0F down, and had felt like overkill whenever I used it - I run warm, always bring extra insulation that I can put on in the bag, and usually sleep on a thermarest for the insulation. Anyway I picked this up before an early spring backpacking trip to Alaska. Overall, it packs down nice and tight in the included compression sack - about the size of a stuffed midweight down jacket. The zippers are robust with nice heavy garages and there?s a thick draft barrier along the zipper. All good. However, for the first time in a while, I woke up a little chilly overnight. It could?ve been a variety of factors, but I sure think the comfort rating of 26F felt a little optimistic still. I?ll keep it though, because I?m rarely in places that cold, and the DWR, light weight, and good features probably make up for it. I guess the moral is if you?re on the fence between this and a 0F bag (and run a bit colder), step down to the 0. Oh yeah, last thing, I?m no string bean and did not suffer any of the ?claustrophobia? with this bag that some stockier people report with mummy bags. YMMV, I?m not prone to that, but this felt like it had the right amount of room. If you?re a bigger fellow, it could be tight though.

Will not zip together with women's Rook 15F

Absolutely great product! if you are looking a for a entry level down sleeping bag that isn to rough on the wallet this is the bag for you. The only downside of this bag it does not offer zip together capability to the women's counter part due the zippers being located on the same side

Great purchase

The real down fill is great and doesn’t stand nearly with the synthetic filled sleeping bags. It was really warm except for the lower part where feet are. In minus 10 Celsius wearing socks my feet were slightly cold. And for that I give it a four stars. It is very light and easy to carry. Otherwise I am happy with my purchase. Definitely worth money spent.

Great sleeping bag

I have not used it on a camping/backpacking trip yet, but I tried sleeping in it inside my house, and it was very comfortable. The sleeping bag is very lightweight, and I love the compression sack that comes with it. My wife has the female Rook and although the lengths are different, it's still comfortable to sleep in when coupled. Just a reminder, if you plan on coupling two sleeping bags, they should be from the same line of sleeping bags for best results and you need one LH and one RH zipper to make it work.

Worked well in freezing weather.

First of all, I love that Mountain Hardware sends the big, breathable sack for normal storage and that the stuff sack is attached to the bag itself. So cool! It compacks to the size of a cantelope and fits well in my backpack. It is light weight and super comforable. I love the fabric material they used. The zippers work great and don't snap. They also glow in the dark which makes them easy to find at night. The bag kept me toasty warm in 20-30 degree weather with snow blowing outside. I had to shed layers at one point I was so warm. A good problem to have! Great sleeping bag. I am very pleased with my purchase.
