Mountain Hardwear's quintessential softshell ski touring pant, the Reduxion Softshell Pant scores points for mobility and breathability. The 4-way stretch softshell fabric pairs well with high-output activities because it's not only more flexible than hardshell pants, but also more breathable. We like that freedom of movement and the way the softshell dumps more heat and steam when we're climbing and skinning, limiting our sweat while shedding light snow and moisture. The pants also feature zippered mesh vents for even more climate control, plus internal snow gaiters with lace hooks and a jacket-to-pant attachment loop for a snow-tight seal.

Warm and comfortable.
Warm and comfortable for hiking, snowshoeing. Cut the wind but not stiff. Would like some back pockets and less flare in legs since I don’t wear with ski boots

Great quality, but need altering.
Love the pants, but they're too long, and need altering, though I haven't yet found anyone willing to do the work. Hope I don't have to return them. Any suggestions?

Nicely made ski pants with plenty of stretch
Very nicely made ski/snowsport pants with plenty of stretch and features. They’re advertised as waterproof but i’ll have to say they shed snow well and are at best water resistant. If you want true waterproof pants you’ll have to move up in price to one of the GoreTex offerings. Sizing is a bit on the tailored side. I purposely moved from my normal Large to an Extra Large and they seem perfect even with a merino base layer underneath.

breathable, water resistant pant for dry touring days.
Great mobility and simplicity. A true soft-shell double weave, so its not water-proof but still water resistant enough to shed snow and light precipitation. A small trade off for excellent heat dumping capabilities. Good for ski touring on bluebird days,
