From cave craggin' to chockstone chimneying, the Mountain Hardwear Men's Piero Utility Pant is a climb anything pant. Its Salado Stretch Canvas fabric is surprisingly durable for how light it feels, and Mountain Hardwear reinforced the knees for offwidth nonsense. Mountain Hardwear also added a DWR finish to shed rainfall when you're seeking steep and dry routes. The Piero Utility Pant has a UPF rating of 50 for sun protection when you're in the alpine.

Perfect everyday wear!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These pants are bomber! The Salado Stretch Canvas fabric is incredibly durable. They also have reinforced knees so you don't have to worry about putting a hole in the knee when you're pushing it to the limit at your favorite crag. I love the fit. They fit slightly large but have a gussetted crotch and great range of motion. The pockets are also pretty darn soft and warm. Certainly one of my favorite pair of pants to break out on a casual day.
OK for work, not for climbing
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: 32 waist X 34 length
- Height: 6'4"
- Weight: 175lbs
Cons: They're not very stretchy and you can feel them holding you back from high-stepping. They fit larger than expected; I ordered a 32" waist and it measures 33.75" inside circumference. The side zip pocket sits right underneath where your harness leg strap rests when wearing a harness.
Pros: They feel very durable. They are very well constructed. They have extra thick knees wear pants tend to wear out first.
