Great for high alpine in heavy weather
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Iâve used this tent for a little over a year now, and it is my go to for most backpacking and mountaineering trips. I wanted a robust 4 season tent that was double wall but could compete weight-wise with three season models. This tent has held up in all conditions - I bivouacked on an exposed ridge with 50+ mph winds and she took it like a champ. The large doors also allow for great ventilation on warmer summer trips. This tent, for me, is the perfect blend of sturdy, bomb-proof weather protection and weight-saving features. Used it solo and on light-n-fast 2 man trips where vert is my primary goal. The only time I donât reach for this tent is on multi-day 2 person trips where extra space trumps the weight savings
