My first experience with Mountain Hardware :(

I’m a climbing guide and my backpack is an essential work tool. I love the design and look, however, it’s just not as durable as I expected from reading the description. After my very first trip the little holes started appearing. I use it as an around town pack now.

Rugged and Spacious Sport Pack

I love the design and the materials. This is a great pack that carries a rope reasonably (has a rope strap) well and will fit enough gear for a multipitch sport climbing or trad climbing day (if you partner carries some of the gear). First day of use this weekend at Smith Rock; wore it on a 5 pitch route... by the end of pitch 3 I had put a small hole in the bottom front of the pack...I think I must have leaned on the rock pretty hard with it on my back. The materials are durable, but that's why it's not a 5 out of 5.

10/10 Best Pack for Multi-pitch Climbing

Bought this pack about a year ago now and have taken it on every multi-pitch climb between J-tree, Red Rock, Tahquitz, etc its the perfect size for non-offwidth climbing. The bottom of the pack is still in perfect condition despite the abuse. The sternum strap and lower hip strap make the bag snug on your back so it doesnt shift around when your making delicate moves. The gear loops inside keep my essential gear organized and available during the climb. Theres really no faults Ive had with the bag thus far. The mesh side pouch has a small hole it it but still works just fine. I will be buying this again when my bag starts to fall apart. Might be a while.

Great pack

Writing a review just because I so strongly disagree w/ review below claiming this hag isn't durable. This bag is virtually indestructible and if you don't drag it around on granite and treat it like it's remotely destructible it'll last decades. This pack is superb l, I've had mine almost 3 yrs and it sees 40-50 pitches/year.

Great features, cool concept, NO durability

I've owned two MultiPitch packs. Both the 30L and the 20L. Let me just say that the reason I bought these packs in the first place was for multi pitch climbing. Given the name, I thought they would be the perfect pack. Unfortunately, after just a few climbs the zippers broke, the body of the pack ripped, and I was left with some unusable packs. My 20L lasted just 8 pitches of hauling an 18 pitch clean granite climb before the hood was unclosable. Fortunately, we didn't lose anything out of the pack finishing out the climb and just had to carry it the rest of the way. I love Mountain Hardwear gear but unfortunately, this pack is a hard pass.

Climb Pack, Chill Pack, Travel Pack

It's my sport and day-to-day pack. The ultra-durable cotton hand is my favorite part of this pack. It will outlast all its stories.

Bulky, heavy, too many features that aren't necessary.

Bummed that this pack is so different from the Hueco 20, which really was an amazing pack for multipitch climbing. Here's my comments: I used 2 x Hueco 20's since 2014. Well made, awesome pack. Light-weight, strong. modified it, added 2 compression straps each side, waist belt. ice axe holders, cord locks n daisy on back. I thought the Multi Pitch 20 wud be similar, but too bulky, heavy. Too many parts. Features I won't use. Pls revert back to the Hueco 20 and add the 4 compression straps and a waist belt, ice axe loops, daisy, etc. The multipitch 20 is overkill and bulky. U could use the same lightweight material all around, especially if it's the truck tarp stuff. U can add the 4 compression straps so the pack can be made more compact once ur en route and gets emptier. The waist strap helps for when it's heavy on approach or ur running downhill. My second version (this one) doesn't have the cool ice axe loops and cord locks I had installed in the original while fall-scrambling in the Canadian Rockies. So, if u have a Hueco 20L laying around in a warehouse somewhere, I'd be happy to take it off ur hands! I know u mean well but pls stop innovating products that work well!
