Take the edge off that cold breeze.
Pop the Mountain Hardwear Men's Mountain Tech II Vest on over your favorite hiking shirt, and get some extra coverage from the wind. The Airshield polyester fleece body cuts on wind chill while the 3L AirShield softshell shoulder panels increase durability and resist light moisture. The two pack- and harness-compatible side zip pockets make it comfortable to climb in, and with dual hem drawcords, you can cinch heat in while you're hiking.

- Q & A
Good all around vest
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
The tech II is not quite up to the elite level of the original tech vest, but still a decent vest with some cool color choices. The large runs a little baggy in comparison to my tech I vest, so doesn't fit as well for a mid layer as the original. I have a 43 chest and a 34 waist. I use this vest more for an outer wear layer over thicker long sleeve shirts and still use my original tech vest for layering under a jacket.
Mountain Tech II Men's Vest
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: large
Runs narrow in the torso. Great fit in shoulders and length.
Has front pocket good for glasses. Nicely made. No fleece so I will use this year round. I have other vest brands and size large fits well. I will exchange for the XL size.
Is the wind-stopping membrane in every panel, or are there hybrid-style panels that are totally breathable?
