Versatile, versatile, versatile

I am an outdoor and environmental educator working for the Walking Mountains Science Center in the Colorado Rockies. I need my gear to be lightweight, warm, and also able to withstand a great deal of abuse. Overall, I give the Men's Kor Strata Pullover Hoody 5/5 stars. It seems as if every outdoor gear company now has a version of this jacket. A lightweight, synthetic insulation active layer. Mountain Hardware may have done some of the best work in this category. This is honestly a 4 season layer for me. The one word I can use to describe this jacket is versatile. From hiking to ski touring, to high altitude ski mountaineering, I have worn this jacket and jackets like this. A small detail that I have appreciated that sets this jacket apart is the articulated fit with a subtle and seamless underarm gusset. This small detail really turns this into a 4-season jacket. Pros of the jacket: Lightweight. Again, incredibly surprised when it came in the mail because I thought to myself that there was no way there could be a jacket in a package this small and lightweight. Despite the lightweight nature of this jacket, it is also so soft, so warm, and so durable. I am always surprised when a jacket can survive as this one has done to a great deal of everyday abuse. Cons of this Jacket. The fit is a little short for me. I am a tall and slender man, so I opted to order the Small sized jacket. The fit is perfect, just a little short that I would like. This is a jacket that I have mainly used in cold environments as a mid-layer, but it will work for anyone in really any type of athletic scenario. Use it as part of a layering kit for skiing, or use it as a casual fall jacket. You can do no wrong.

Super comfortable and warm!

I’m a ski patroller and avalanche instructor in the Rockies and I need my gear to be durable, and have well thought out features that allow me to perform my duties without thinking about where things are located. Pros: Considering how light and small the hoody was I was surprised how warm the Primaloft Gold Active insulation was- probably due to it being mapped to the core for warmth. The deep v zipper is great to dump heat above a hip belt before stopping to remove a layer The hands pocket was awesome for warming hands and crossing over to apres ski The chest pocket is well sized to easily put a phone in and keep it warm in the under layers Great stretch in underarm gusset for flexibility Con: The hoody is large in the chest/boxy for its size, but would fit well over a base layer and thin fleece if you order what would be your normal size based on the size guide.
