Kor Strata Hooded Jacket

Run another lap on your favorite climb in the brisk autumn weather in the Mountain Hardwear Kor Strata Hooded Jacket. Featuring a lightweight construction using top-of-the-line Primaloft Gold insulation, this jacket keeps you warm but ventilates out excess heat. That way you're not getting overheated while working that crux pitch of a climb that's still in the shade in the morning. The underarm gusset and mechanical stretch nylon fabric allow for a comfortable range of motion that won't restrict you as you reach far above your head looking for a hold to pull on. The adjustable hood can easily be pulled over a helmet if the weather turns and your head needs a little extra protection.

Very versatile

Great jacket so far it’s the perfect combo of breathability and warmth. Just wondering though, it doesn’t say anywhere if it has a DWR treatment, so I’d like to know if it does or not

I am doubling down on how good this coat is

I bought this coat last year. I am ~5'6 140 lbs, 38 in. chest and a Men's small fit perfect. This technical hoody is one of my favorite pieces of gear I own. I've used it down to temperatures around 35 degrees while I was moving and felt very comfortable. My favorite feature is how well it breathes while you are working up a sweat. I never feel like it makes me too hot. I've used this Korr Strata Hoody rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, and around town. It packs into its own sleeve which is a very useful feature when packing it into small spaces. I plan to use it as an insulating layer this season while skiing on milder days. Good job Mountain Hardwear - A+.

Great functionality

It is a swiss-army jacket I have used as a stand-alone winter jacket, a mid-layer, and as a thermal layer sleeping in my bag in cold weather. This jacket breathes well on intense hikes in cold conditions and keeps me warm on summer scramble summits. The fact that it compactly packs into its own pocket is great for an emergency layer in your day pack. The zipper is a bit crude and the hood a bit big for a hat and head and a bit small for a helmet. Other than that it is a really great jacket.

perfect fit and low profile

Size Bought:
small

Just like my green color same style jacket, when I saw dark grey color on sale, I ordered one right away, the fit is perfect. It's warmer than Arcteryx Atom lt hoody. . I have several different color of Arcteryx atom lt, but I like this style jacket better as it's really low profile, super comfortable and light weight. The fabric is thinner than Atom lt, but it seems quite solid.

Lightweight yet warm and packable

I bought this to replace my old thermostatic jacket, I needed something warm for backpacking, yet lightweight and packable. So far i love this jacket and the color is perfect.. the extra chest pocket is a nice feature.

Great piece, now different sizing

I own the previous version of this hoodie and I love it. Its very cozy - soft, stretchy, good sized hood. The size (Large) was spot on: fitted with enough room for a fleece or baselayer underneath, slim enough to layer well under a puffer or shell. The Primaloft Active insulation provides warmth without bulk and is very breathable - great for high activity in cold weather. Wore it recently canyoneering in New Mexico (low 40s) with just a teeshirt underneath it was perfectly warm but not hot. I wouldn't call this a jacket or outerlayer. Definitely performs as a breathable midlayer - the wind goes right through and while it does have DWR, the soft face fabric wets out pretty fast. MH made some weird choices with the new hooded jacket (current version) though. I was happy to see that the insulation was reduced to 50g from 60g, which is more inline with that breathable mid layer range. The old one could be too hot climbing steep inclines, etc. However, the sizing went the other direction. The medium was way too tight but the large was way too roomy, sized for layering underneath despite having less insulation/wind resistance. Plus, the synch cord at the bottom, which could trap some heat and reduce the bulk, doesnt hold at all. The hood is larger and floppier too. So, if you're considerably larger or smaller than me, it might work fine but if you're around my size (6'1", 180, 39" chest, 32waist), opt for the previous iteration while its in stock

Great jacket

This jackets fits well and works either as a mid layer on a cold day or a stand-alone in the fall/spring weather for any activity.

Needs stronger cord locks

The jackets is great! I enjoy the fit and the warmth. Only problem is, the cord locks around the elastic are not strong enough and does not hold the jacket taut. That is the only thing that needs to be improved upon.

Awsome all around

Got this jacket last December (18) and it's become my favorite all around jacket. I've used it climbing, hiking, cycling and as workwear. It's just a great all around jacket. I'm a very active type and the prima loft gold is like magic it adjusts so well and does not over heat easily if I put in a strong effort. It breathes and stays really comfortable. The feel of this jacket is super nice too. It's light and soft and feels great. Highly recommend this to anyone as a core piece. It layers really well under my Gore-Tex shell. Although I've had it in the rain a few times by itself and it stayed dry for 30mins in a heavy drizzle. I'm 6', 190lb (44in chest - I'm a swimmer) and the large fit well...Med was tight in the chest
