Perfect running shell

I love this pullover shell! Excellent fabric—lightweight, strong, windproof, keeps a light mist off. Superb tailoring, fitting my slim runner's physique just right so I can move and it doesn't billow. Only the essential extras: one zip pocket, one interior pocket (for cramming the shell into a ball, but useful for my running iPod).

One of the best jackets on the market

I usually don't review things but this thing is so amazing that it's become my go to jacket. Yes this is thin (really why are people complaining about it? That is the reason you bought it unless you don't know what you're doing). This is literally like wearing an extremely strong fancy plastic bag. Meaning you feel nothing and it's super easy to put it on and take it off. Because how lightweight it is. You can't go lighter than this unless we come up with a new material or a weaker material or less pockets. I love everything about this jacket. It's to the point and simple. No unnecessary bells and whistles that would weigh you down. It's about 1/4 the size (packed) when compared to my polyester windbreaker. I can't believe how small and lightweight this is. Now one guy complained about how it doesn't replace any of his jackets. Ok no one cares and that shouldn't dock the rating because we wouldn't want your other jackets (? Lol?) People have the weirdest complaints. It ruins it for people who actually want a good product. Here is my advice. You don't buy this to layer. I'm a hiker myself (Texas) and I usually don't layer. I kinda don't need to. Unless it's winter. You just wear what's good for that weather. This thing is perfect for cool Texas nights when you don't need anything bulky but still need full coverage. I could wear a long sleeve t-shirt but this is super light, I can pack it and it has pockets. Very important feature is the raised neck to keep the wind off your neck where it hits you the worst. It does have the zipper tip guard or whatever it's called which is nice to have so you don't get your neck stuck in the zipper. There are technically two pockets. On the outside is the zippered pocket. I would suggest it's better for light stuff like earbuds but my large 5" phone fit in just fine with enough room that it wasn't uncomfortable or unpractical. But I wouldn't do it because it feels weighty because of the thin material. But I could see it working for a little while if you don't have pockets. The other pocket is mesh based on the inside (same side as the other pocket). This pocket is there to pack the jacket as well. It's an interesting pocket as it has a top part and a bottom part and the top part of the mesh overlaps the bottom so it's secure without adding another zipper. It makes total sense. This is extremely ingenious imo as it doesn't introduce extra unnecessary zippers or weight or anything that might graze against your chest as it's such a thin jacket. There is no cinch around the waist and I wouldn't want one. I have other jackets for that. This jacket does fit nearly form fitting but not quite. The only odd thing about it is that the wrists are a bit long but weirdly they do work out because they easily go over my watch so maybe they had that in mind. This jacket is also a bit long. Not long enough to look bad but longer than usual and I actually prefer it because so many form fitting jackets are short and thus difficult to wear. This is a super easy jacket to get into. Honestly I don't know what it is but I love this jacket so much. I've tried a lot of other jackets and brands and all the jackets I've had were uncomfortable to wear all the time. If you want something that's sort of go to then this will do. I'm guessing this jacket will do well in 50-60 degrees. Although if overcast then I'd guess 60-70.

Love the idea and material

This is so comfortable that I kind of wish they made a shirt out of this material. I'm 6 foot, 155lbs and the medium fits me near perfectly. If anything it's ever so slightly large. I ended up buying two of these in different colors because it's so versatile.

Nice, light layer

Comfortable fit, very convenient chest pocket, super light weight. Its been a great layer for morning trail runs.

Preshell Pullover

It's very thin so no insulation. I suppose best use would be when t-shirt is not enough but mid layer is a bit to warm. A bit limited use, not sure how it would breath under any hardshell. It might not also be good enough over a softshell or midlayer unless you go one size up since it runs rather fitted. I think I still like it and should be able to use but it's neither warm nor very protective and while good for a quick hike in the morning, might not be good enough for a longer trip.

Windbreakers come in a few different fabrics and most tend to feel like a gritty nylon trash bag in the hand. Patagonia's Houdini, Arcteryx Squamish, and most mainstream running brand wind breakers are all some 20D-40D nylon, and they tend to be swishy, loud, and have a gritty, plasticky, unbreathable impenetrable sorta feel to them. Which is fine for some use-cases, but bad for others. The Kor Preshell family is different. It has a smooth, silky handfeel and is quieter. It breaths so much better and packs down smaller. Goretex is great for 3L waterproof jackets, but Pertex is my choice for lighter layers. I love this material.

I was looking at grabbing one of these for a while mainly as a winter running layer. Finally did on sale. The material and jacket is exactly what I wanted- just a light layer to cut the wind but that will also breathe. Unfortunately, the fit in the shoulder was quite narrow for me and the material in the arm pits/under the biceps really bunched up and was tight/digging in. Might have been ok but was definitely worried about discomfort/chafing on runs especially with a light layer or two beneath so I ended up returning this unfortunately. Everywhere else it fit quite well. So for sizing, I'd say it runs true to size everywhere except if you're a bit wider this might not be the one.

Great Layer

This is really a fantastic product because I can use it for a number of different roles. If it's still early in the morning and I'm heading uphill, it's great because it breathes well enough that you won't overheat, but you will start to warm up. If I'm heading downhill in the sun I can use it as sun protection and I'll stay reasonably cool. And its surprising that it still has a decent amount of water resistance. I used this the most on the JMT and it was my favorite piece of gear for that trip.

Good product not as seen In Picture

Great product only issue I had was that the item received although in the dive color did not have a yellow zipper it was just blue like the rest of the jacket. Would have preferred the contrast and they should put the product they will ship as the product they are advertising. That said I’ve worn it on my travels in an airplane and it’s very comfortable and functional.
