The Mountain Hardwear Kelvinator Jacket, with its burly baffles full of water-resistant 650-fill down insulation, keeps you warm and comfortable from your hips to the top of your head in the nastiest weather that Old Man Winter can dish up. Marmot's Q.Shield insulation maintains its loft and its insulating properties even when it's wet, so, unlike your buddy wearing regular down, you don't have to sweat those dark gray clouds too much.
The Kelvinator jacket's face fabric is tough 20D nylon ripstop fabric. This
wind-resistant fabric is soft and smooth to make layering easy. Mountain
Hardwear then insulated the jacket with its Q.Shield 650-fill
water-resistant down. The down fibers are permanently infused with a
water-repellant, so they maintain their loft and insulating properties
when wet. The Kelvinator's slightly longer cut offers a bit more protection from the elements and helps keep snow from climbing up your torso on deep powder days. An insulated, adjustable hood locks in heat where it's most
likely to escape. The Kelvinator's dual hem drawcords and comfortable,
elasticized cuffs seal out drafts to keep you
warm in high winds, and the jacket stuffs into its own pocket for the
minimum possible pack size when not in use.
