Not worth the price of admission.

Cheap materials for a premium price. Not worth the price of admission for this one. Can't adjust the torso, and couldn't find any other reasons or special features that warrant the price for a basic pack.

Excellent Multipurpose Oversized Backpack

I just purchased this bag for a two week trip to Japan. I wanted something I could pack a lot into, easily access/ access things quickly, and be able to fit on the bullet trains. Just tested it out on a weekend trip out of town on a Southwest flight. I'm also an avid hiking so I liked the multipurpose potential. I'm a 5'7 woman and got unisex cuz I like the color. Definitely fits larger than a regular day pack or school backpack. Shoulder straps are very soft and well padded. I was debating on sizing up for the 35L but it definitely wouldn't have fit under the seat on the plane so I'm glad I listened to my partner and got the 25L. Love the top compartment for wallet/phone/earbuds. Easy to pull up from under the seat and get stuff out of the top. I love that it stands up on its own without falling over. The mesh addition on the front is a great feature. I was able to stuff a Teva camper shoe in each side. Overall I'm super satisfied with this and looking forward to using it more!

Versatile bag for plane travel or backpacking

Really well thought out bag, great for traveling - can be used as your personal item on flights under the seat and I used it for hiking the Camino and it was the perfect size. The optional outside extension is a game changer - making it really flexible in size.

New favorite daypack for climbing or hiking

A solid backpack with a big pocket w/big opening, and a great area to strap the helmet to the outside.

Great 25L day pack and light overnight

Exactly what I was looking for! Light, lots of space inside and plenty of exterior carrying capabilities as well!

Impressive Attention to detail

This is the ultimate day pack. The fabric is tough but feels great, the shape and feel of the straps and back is excellent. The little loops for the compression straps are very creative. They allow the ends of the straps to sit against the pack instead of flailing around. The side pockets are both big enough to fit 1L Nalgene bottles in them and I have been able to strap skis to the sides of the pack as well. You can they really applied themselves with this one but yet I’m not overwhelmed with many little features. Great job guys!

Looking for a new day pack or ultralight thru hike pack? John Muir himself (RIP) would agree this is the one. THE JMT 25L.

Field tested this on an off-trail summit. This pack has just what you need for a lightweight trek that could turn into an adventure. The top load lid makes getting in and out a zip. Internal frame. Stash able mesh net that has numerous options for items. The Cordura material this pack was birthed from is tough and withstood going through thorn patches and granite pinch points while traversing. After one outing with the Mountain Hardwear JMT 25L it's my new day or ultralight thru hike backpack. About a 20in torso for sizing inquires

This is the one

Took the JMT 25 for it’s first hike today. 10miles in the San Juan’s of Colorado. This is the pack. I’ve bought 6 packs this year looking for the perfect pack, and this is it. This is as close to a perfect pack for a day trip hike as it gets. Carries weight well, very comfortable, has most features you’ll be needing for an all day adventure and fits everything you could want for 10-20 mile hike. The only thing it’s missing for me is I would like to see one more smaller pocket on the inside for keys/wallet. I use the small pocket on the top for headlamp, first aid kit, water filter, musher secret and dog treats, so another separate pocket for wallet/keys would have made this pack absolute perfect.

Lots of fetures, that I wont be able to use...

Just took this pack out for its first outing. There is so much I like about the pack. But the bottom line is that with a one size fits most approach sizing it dosent work for my 5'7 - 5'8" frame. Meaning that when I cinch the shoulder straps up to place the pack where it should be on my back they are behind my ribs and its not very comfortable. This is due to the length of the strap. Pretty bummed about this and I hope that they make 2 sizes. As stated another user that was 6'3" this worked well for him but Im just to far off the size for it to be comfortable. My top 3 features that i like are. 1) The materials and build are top notch. You can tell that there will not be any holes for a long time 2) A lot of the features that make this a GREAT hiking pack (Hip belt w/ pockets, ice axe/hiking pole loops, stretch mesh pocket) fold out of view so, well it dosent look like a hiking pack and thus makes it a better day to day pack. 3) You can take the metal frame out to lighten the pack or place a foam sit pad in its place for added versatility. My wish list...two torso sizes Please!! bigger/ more durable zipper for the main compartment. Unfortunately I'll be returning this amazing pack as its just not comfortable for my size.

Best backpack I have ever owned!

This backpack does it all! Plenty of storage without adding to much bulk. Internal frame and waist straps are ideal for longer hikes. I highly recommend this pack!
