Loving the bibs thus far, had to size up

Only have about 5 or so days in these bibs, but I love them thus far. The pockets are great, easy to close and open. I really like the two individual chest pockets as well, makes it easier to keep things organized. The front entry is really convenient, but side entry is easy as well. The fit was small for me. According to MHW I should have been a L, but I found the XL fit a lot better. I have a "linebacker" body type, so maybe slimmer body types would fit MHW sizing better. The two things I was concerned with before purchasing were the waterproofness and the durability. After a few days out in PNW storms, I'm very satisfied with the waterproofness. DWR seems to be doing its job, and the fabric breaths pretty well. Durability is still TBD, though I did whack a branch pretty good out riding one day and the pants got a "burn" mark, but didn't tear. So i'm pretty happy overall!

Go to bib

Have been my go-to bib all season for splitboarding. These are light weight and breathable and not too loose or tight, have full mobility doing kick turns and high stepping while climbing. Also have been impressed by how waterproof they are. I wore my high exposure kit climbing lift towers to beat off rime ice in 50knots of wind and rain and stayed very dry.

Excellent fit for actual use

If you want a lightweight bib for backcountry skiing and your budget is unlimited, there are a couple other options out there— but if you are tall with big quads, these might be your best option. I’m 6’2”, 33x34 pants, 195 lbs. This season I tried bibs from brands that start with a P, an A, a BD, and an OR (and a few others too) and all were extremely constricting when trying to high step. These I can actually do squats in, with proper cold wx layers underneath. The XL-long fits like a Large-plus; it’s not big and baggy with a huge flappy torso and skinny legs like many other bibs. It’s actually cut for moving and layering in the mountains. Only limitation (for some) is that they aren’t as versatile for multi day trips or variable wx as a bib with full length side zips. However, if you are primarily wearing a soft shell pant and layering shell pants over only as needed (eg digging a bivy) then you probably aren’t looking at these to begin with; there are better, more minimalist options for that. The cuff drawcord is appreciated but these will still be too baggy in the lower leg to double as your ice climbing bibs. However, that also means they will also fit over a size 30.5 splitboard boot. Overall I’m super impressed with the fit and features. C-knit has not been the most weather-resistant membrane in my experience, but for the intended use of winter ski touring, it should be fine. Thanks for making these and dialing in this motion-friendly, layer-friendly fit.

Ski touring bib.

Nice light weight bib for ski touring or split boarding. Pockets placed well, beacon loops, can adjust volume at hem for smaller boots. Size up
