Why We Like The High Exposure GTX C-Knit Anorak

Mountain Hardwear has a history steeped in the backcountry, and it really shows in the High Exposure GTX C-Knit Anorak. Since the waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane is three-layer, the shell is lightweight, easy to move in and easy to shove into our packs. One of our favorite things about it? The oversized chest pockets. Not only are they harness- and pack-friendly, they're big enough for our climbing skins, gloves, or even a radio.

Compact, Functional, Comfortable - Love it!

Functionality is my priority in backcountry jackets and this one checks all the boxes. In addition to that, it looks good and the Gold Hour really pops in photos. I was hesitant at first to try a Anorak for backcountry, but paired with my bibs I could not be happier! I love this jacket. After trying out many jackets for backcountry adventures, and being disappointed in all of them, I have finally found my match! This no-frills jacket is lightweight, has accessible pockets, keeps me warm in wind, dry and has easy ventilation. I love the 3/4 zip for its easy on/off, even with a pack on, ability to vent with the main zipper. The exterior pockets are large enough for glove liners, buffs and snacks while also being accessibile with a harness or waist strap. The interior pockets fit my goggles or gloves when needed. Make sure to use zippered pockets for phones, I had my phone fall out of the goggle pocket when I bent over -user error, oops. The little features, like the microfiber mouth cover in the high neck is great for windy days and protecting the mouth from powder shots. The powder skirt can be buttoned off when not needed.
