Comfortable warmth from spring to fall.

A women-specific design with extra insulation in the torso and foot areas makes the Mountain Hardwear Heratio Sleeping Bag an excellent choice for female campers and backpackers. ThermoTrap Baffle construction secures 650-fill down insulation in smaller chambers to keep the down in place across the entire bag, and the down's Q.Shield treatment helps it resist moisture to retain its heat-trapping loft and maintain its warmth in sub-freezing temperatures. Its comfort mummy cut provides a slightly larger shape than standard mummy bags for extra relaxation without adding weight.

Mountain Hardwear made the Ratio's shell out of dobby for durability, and the taffeta lining is smooth to the touch for extra comfort. The down-filled face gasket at the hood and the insulated draft tube across the zipper keep chilly drafts out of the bag throughout the night. The hood features single-handed drawcords that cinch snugly with a simple pull.

Heratio bag

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister. She loves it. I have the ratio which is the mens version and I can say it's super warm. I've used it in winter conditions and with a sleeping bag liner, it keeps you warm. I wish it came with a compression sack but the stuff bag still packs it small.

Great Bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Comfy and soft, relatively lightweight, kept my girlfriend warm in below freezing temps. Apparently the foot box was a little cold, but she also has cold feet, so who knows. The only mild annoyance was that the zipper kept snagging when trying to open it up from inside, but honestly most sleeping bags have that same problem. I'd definitely recommend this bag to someone who is looking for something warm, comfy, and affordable.

Used twice, initial impressions...

Happy with the quality of the bag and it is indeed cozy. Took this bag camping in Moab where the temps were in the 20s. I was dressed for the cold and FROZE in this bag; not confident about the temperature rating but would be comfortable in 30-40 degree temps.

Warm and Cozy

My customer used this tent on her trip to Los Padres National Forest and said she stayed nice and warm in this bag even when the temperatures dropped below 20. The tent they used let a little condensation in in the mornings but the water just rolled right off her bag and she stayed nice and dry!

Warm and cozy

My friend has this exact sleeping bag and let me borrow it a couple times when it was cold outside. It kept me really warm and it was super comfortable so I decided to buy one for myself. Since buying it I have not regretted my decision. The 15° rating is accurate and I love how easily and small it compresses down.

Best deal on a sub-20 bag!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Loved it- especially if you can find this on sale, the bang-for-your-buck ratio with this sleeping bag is unbeatable. Definitely warm to its reported temperature rating and then some. On 30 degree nights, I was almost too warm in the bag. It's also super light, super packable (did I mention I'm never going back to synthetic from down!??), and super comfortable. A purchase I would recommend to anyone and one of the best deals on gear I've ever gotten. It's true that the stuff sack it comes with isn't truly compression, but that's an easy extra purchase given how great this bag is otherwise.
