Why We Like The Hardwear AP Pant
The Mountain Hardwear Men's Hardwear AP Pant tackles our bike commutes through the city, afternoon bouldering sessions, impromptu post-work nachos with our coworkers, and everything in between. Reflective strips under the cuff increase visibility on twilight bike rides home from the brewery, crag, or office, and we love the roll-up snap closure on the hem that keeps our pants from getting caught in the crankset.

Solid pants!
Great pair of pants. Very durable and dirt is easy to get off. They don’t stay looking dirty. Gonna get another pair

Superb field working pants with a excellent cut.
I live in the polychrome of these well fitting and super designed pants for my work as an expert leader for National Geographic and Smithsonian. The tapered cut, the light to medium textile, the zippered back pockets and the well sewn pants are incredibly comfortable and "field" stylish. Many of my travelers and students ask about these pants and I give them my highest recommendation.

Editors choice, I can see why …
These are my favorite, the BEST 👍🏻 pants ever! They BREATH so they are very comfortable in summer and for walking. Also, ASTONISHINGLY lightweight while how they fit and feel is like genes, accept more flexible, extremely lightweight, and my dog can’t scratch them up no matter how much she tries 🐕 !

My "go to" pants
These have turned out to be my go to pants. Extremely comfortable with a little bit of stretch. These are the only pants that I remember getting compliments on. I know own these in multiple colors. The only downside is that they are a little tight in the thigh but that is part of the good looks!

Nicely Cut
These are a very versatile pair of pants and will serve as well out for dinner as they do on the trail.

Good... Different
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 32x32
5'8" 140.. Bought 32x32 fit is good but the crotch seems a little weird. I own previous versions and these don't feel like the same type or thickness of material as my current ones.

Versatile Camp Pant
Great pant for hiking, camping and hanging out. Bought a couple pair for a camping, research trip and wore multiple days while doing some hiking and field work. Great fit, looks good and good weight for changing mountain conditions.

The sizing is significantly different than the AP Active pant. I tried an AP active paint on locally and 30 x 32 was too tight and too short. I ordered this AP pant in 31 x 34 and the waist was at least 2 inches too big. Either the sizing varies significantly between their pants of different materials or there is inconsistency in production. Returning and not planning to re-order since they do not offer a 29" waist and a 30 will likely be too large based on how big the 31 is. I typically wear 30 x 34 of most athletic brands.

Tear in the knee the first time outdoors
- Size Bought:
- 30x30

Got these pants for Christmas. Have 4 in other colors, but those are the older version. The newer model is a little more snug and less giving/flexible but still seemed to do the trick…for a while. I wore them around town running errands and whatnot but the first time I really took them outdoors this May they tore. All I did was kneel down while putting in a tent peg. Boom, I stand up and see a tear in my left knee. Didn’t seem to kneel on anything sharp. Just tore. I’d like to think this is a fluke and just a bad sew job or patch of fabric. If not, then the quality has really dipped. Some of my other AP pants are almost 10 years old and still function like the day I bought them. Can’t really return them so I’m stuck with them. If it is just a one off I’d change my review to a 5 because up until that moment I was loving them. But outdoor gear is meant for the outdoors. And these left me unimpressed.

Great pants
It's the most durable pants out there, and they're comfortable.
