    Great grab and go jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This jacket is the perfect shell to keep in your car at all times. I recently went on a two week road trip along the PCH and was so thankful to have the Ghost Lite Stretch with me. We encountered a few light rain showers and lots of wind, the jacket held up great!
The lightweight pack ability allows you to bring it with you anywhere and not feel bogged down. One of my favorite features is that it doesn't create a lot of noise while you move like other rain and wind shells. The stretch is great for on the go activities like running and biking and just about everything else. When packed down it fits perfectly in the storage pocket of my hydration vest. Basically the size of a coke can.
It also dumps heat really well! Nothing is worse than going for a run with a jacket on only to be over heating and sticky within 5 min. Not the case here, exceeds my expectations in every category.

    Great Mountain Biking Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 185lbs

I've been testing the Ghost Stretch Lite Jacket since last fall and really like wearing it while Mountain Biking. It's a great blend between a windbreaker and a softshell - it is made of a stretch woven fabric, so it has great stretch, breathes well and blocks just enough wind. Since it's so lite and packable, I bring it as my emergency layer in my riding pack even if I'm not planning to wear it - it's saved me a couple times in rouge rain storms. It packs down so small that a friend of mine actually stuffs his into the downtube compartment below the water bottle cage on his Specialized bike. I imagine my Ghost Stretch Lite is going to be coming with me on multiple adventures this year.

    First Impression was a success

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

I recently picked up this jacket and wanted to review my very first impressions. I must say I was pretty pleased with the garment. It feels really nice next to skin, packs down to nothing which is great for taking on route. It does have a curtain texture on the inside of the jacket that will be a little constrictive for very dynamic/gymnastic climbing, I also do wish it was a little bit longer in the torso to have it fit a bit better underneath a harness and not have it ride up when climbing. Having said all that, it will be great for the belay. It breaths really well so I didn't feel like I had to take it on and off between pitches and could just put it on and leave it on all day. I will update this review once I get a little more time in it. Overall really happy with the jacket and would recommend it.

    My Go To For Running

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 165lbs

Well suited for high output, this jacket has become my partner on the trail. It's light, very breathable and packs fairly small when not needed. It provides just the right amount of protection to keep you comfortable in windy, variable conditions. Typically find myself comfortable wearing this in 30-45 degree weather when continuously moving or 45-70 for slower output.

The fit on this is comfortably loose, not baggy and true to size. Fabric is very soft but durable and something that you can beat the hell out of, continuously wash, and it looks brand new. Good investment that will last.

Late last Fall while riding in Moab, I was caught in the worst rain storm of my life. This was a rain storm that compared to those I've seen in Central America and Southeast Asia. If it weren't for the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Lite Stretch Hooded Jacket stuffed into my fanny pack, I would have had a terrible time! The jacket didn't keep me dry, but it kept me warm and it kept me moving to get back to camp. I find myself wearing this jacket anytime I hit the trail on a cool morning or have it ready if I plan on riding late into the evening. Just enough stretch to make it unnoticeable, while feeling durable. It may not keep the heaviest rains out, but it keeps a light moisture and cool breezes at bay!

I'm super pumped on the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Lite Stretch Hooded Jacket. This jacket is perfect for those windy days or light drizzles. I will be using this when I got fly fishing, mountain biking, trail running. and hikes!
I really like how small it compacts because of that I feel like it can come everywhere with me without taking up a lot of space. And because of the stretch fabric, it moves with you, doesn't feel constricting and feels great on. I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a nice lightweight jacket that can be easily packed. If you have any questions hit me at 801-523-4075 or email me at borloski@backcountry.com

Full disclosure, I work here, and I got one of these jackets last fall. I wore it all fall on the mountain bike, running, and as an emergency shell. I am super surprised on this piece, not going to lie. I have a few other Mountain Hardwear items and the fit is a little bit of a mixed bag on me. I usually find the fit to be a little more relaxed than I would prefer and also a touch short. This one though is legitimately ideal for activity. Perfect for brisk or damp rides, stretchy and durable. On a run, the sleeves and core seem to check all the right boxes and remain in place where you want, yet freely moving where you need. The surface material is more rugged than a standard lightweight rain jacket, so you can brush up against rocks and trees without ripping on contact. The stretch is pretty amazing. This is so much bang for the buck.

    Question#1: Is the hood removal?

    Unanswered Question

I'm wondering about the weight and if it packs into it's own pocket as well.
I saw the other Q&A, but that 3.1oz looks like it's for the Ghost Lite Hooded (non-stretch) that has 15D fabric? Liknk here => https://www.backcountry.com/mountain-hardwear-ghost-whisper-hooded-jacket-mens?rr=t
While this model has 50D fabric. It seems like this one would be more than the 3.1oz.

How much does this jacket weigh in ounces in a men's size large? Does it pack into it's own pocket for storage?
