Initial review: very good fit and features

I don’t normally write an out of the box review but the other reviews on these bibs are all over the place so I thought others May appreciate a little more detail. Based on fit, finish and features I’d call these a 5/5 just on initial reaction. I’m a touch over 5’9” and wear 30-32 inch inseam pants- jeans I tend to go longer and cuff; outerwear and dress pants tend to be 30”. I’m about 145-150 pounds and a 32 inch waist(give or take an inch) for most pants depending on where they sit. I ordered the medium short bibs. Like most 30” pants on me these are a perfect length to hit just the top of my foot. Once I adjusted the shoulder straps the waist and chest sit about right if not a touch large. I also own a pair of competitor ski pants in a softshell fabric that are 32x30 and these bibs fit slightly looser than those and the length is almost an exact match. The looser fit is necessary in these bibs because they don’t seem to have much if any stretch unlike the softshell competitor pants. But I thought the size comparison would be helpful considering all the other reviews. These are right in line with other pants. On to some other points I saw made by others- mine fit over my k2 ski boots perfectly with the zipper all the way closed. They are snug but still slide up and down slightly as needed. The color is amazing. Zippers work well and are thoughtfully placed. To the extent you care, they weigh about 22 ounces.

Amazing quality, great product, very lightweight shell. Sizing chart indicated that I should order a Large (I'm 36W, 34L), and they fit a little too snugly when layered with sweatpants. I recommend ordering one size up form the chart.

Great bib durability questionable

I give this bib 2 stars because it is a great bib that keeps the snow out and I was never too hot or cold in the backcountry. Unfortunately the durability was not what I expected of a goretex pro bib, as they ripped just by brushing up on an ice saw and my ski edge cut through the thick patches designed to prevent this, on the inside of the leg. This patch was also punctured by a branch. I’m quite sad about this because other then the durability these bibs are everything I hoped for them to be, I will attempt to get a warranty. As far as size goes, I sized up and they fit perfectly. I am a 5’10” 1550 lb male. I usually wear a size M and I bought i size L which fits perfectly with more then enough room to layer underneath

Not waterproof

I bought these bibs in September (2021). By December, approximately 20 days of skiing, I noticed that I was getting wet through the pants and it was visibly clear that the bibs were soaking through. I have never washed the pants or done anything outside of recommended use. Pretty disappointed, definitely not the quality I have come to expect from Mountain Hardware. I would love to attempt to have had this issue warrantied but mountain hardware requires I send in the bibs and wait ~10 weeks, something I cannot do in the middle of guiding season.

So far So...........Excellent!!

Once again Mountain Hardware knocks it out of the park with this product. Purchased this bib pre season and just tried them today for the first time. Skiing in the Pacific Northwest. Heavy wet snow today, stayed perfectly warm and dry in this bib. Zippers and suspenders easy to use. Also found this product allowed good freedom of movement. It is day one so I have no information that relates to product durability yet. However in my experience Mountain Hardware has always stood behind their product so even if durability issues arise I am confident they will make it right.

Wrong proportion

Good quality product poor fit inseam too short on regular lengh, I took one size up for the inseam fit so,pants are too large and inseam is still too short. The proportion of a xl may fit a 5,9 210+pounds

Flaw for those hiking

Overall, I really like these bibs. Gore-tex is great. However, the leg powder skirt (if that's what you call it) has a fatal flaw. Its just simply not high enough. One step in deep snow and your going to get snow up and over the leg-skirt and into your base layer. This happened, without fail, each time I am in powder. This is something I wish I had known and didnt notice when looking at the photos of the colorway I wanted. But is very evident in the Cosmos Purple color way (see photo)

Absolutely the Perfect Bib — Finally Found It!

Finally found the perfect bottoms for skiing. I love these bibs and they function perfectly with allowing me to layer, yet still providing supreme durability with the Gore-Tex Pro. I had to size up to give a little extra room. I’ll use these for years to come — highly recommend!
