Why We Like The Echo Lake Hoodie

We know windbreakers can be a lifesaver in mountainous terrain, but there needs to be a balance of protection and ventilation so that it doesn't end up slowing us down. The Echo Lake Hoodie from Mountain Hardwear implements a three-piece adjustable hood to keep our face shielded, while core venting keeps us cool when we're pushing pace. Plus, built-in UPF 40 sun-protection provides us with much-needed defense against UV rays.

Ok, weight is wrong

I bought this believing it was ultra-lightweight like the Kor Preshell. The Echo Lake is listed as sub 3 ounces, but my XL comes in at 9 oz. The jacket has hand pockets without zippers and a chest pocket with a snap. I own the Kor and it is by far the better technical outdoor garment.
