thoughts on my new hat

I had a Mountain Hardware hat previously and was somewhat disappointed that the quality had changed. It was much less warm versus my prior product, and the top was a Gore-Tex layer that is waterproof but didn't keep my head warmer. The sizing is also on the small side, even though I ordered a large size hat. Frankly, I would look for other brands in the future.

The best!

I bought it because I had one and lost it. I love the har and am working to make sure I don’t lose this one. Best cool weather hats I’ve ever owned!

Buy the one with just flannel top, gortex shield gets cold

Thought it would be warmer like my last one, different version with some weird gortex shield on the top

My Denali Head Gear

Excellent - I wore it on my entire Denali climb from base camp to summit. I could not find a better material, with warmth, adequate head coverage in extreme cold conditions.

Necessary piece of gear!

I’ve owned 2 of these so far. They’re extremely durable and a necessary piece of gear in my kit. I work as a commercial fisherman and stay dry the entire season with this hat. It’s warm and blocks the wind well. Would definitely recommend.

Not the same

Trying to replace the knit hat that is similar to this and fit is no comparison. Sent it back.

I miss the old Air Shield beannie

It’s OK, but doesn’t not fit as well nor is it as warm as the old Air Shield

My first beanie from MH I still use. 13 years old!

I’ve had my first beanie for close to 13 years and it’s still my go to beanie for super cold weather and for any ski trip. Only con is because of the wind proofing in normal settings it can be hard to hear. Other than that this beanie is worth every Penn

Pro and Perignon

Love the hats ((Perignon and Pro). As indicated by some, the pro replaces a layer of fleece for wind stopper fabric. It does come off as lighter and in most environments they probably work very similar on insulation. Had the Pro on in heavy winds along Lake Michigan and it was great. This is actually 2nd order because you need to pay attention to sizing charts because bigger heads need the XL and they don’t stretch like a regular wool or cotton hat.
