fabric pilling after being worn once!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am surprised at the poor quality fabric of these pants, considering the Mountain Hardwear brand is known for it's high quality gear. I followed laundering guidelines and did not wear them where the pilling on the thighs and the butt could be attributed to sitting on or rubbing against abrasive surfaces either. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Happy I ordered 2 pair!

I could not decide which size I needed so I ordered a 10 and 12. They both fit, 1 I can dress up the larger I can use for more casual wear. I got a great price so will keep both.

Excellent, love these.

Fabulous material. You can pull elastic at bottom at ankle but can also leave alone so it is less sporty.

Wonderful fit, poor quality

I really love the fit of these pants. They are made for athletic builds and actual hiking. That being said, the quality of the material leaves a LOT to be desired. After about a six hour hike the material is already pilling in the thighs. This is really disappointing because I don't see these pants looking decent past another day or two of hiking. These pants are too expensive to be disposable.

Say Yes to These Pants

These pants have exceeded my expectations right out of the bag. The waistband is really comfortable, and has a smart, simple flat webbing and plastic buckle built in. It's low profile enough that I didn't notice it under the waist belt of a small day pack. Amazingly, even though they only appear to come in a regular length, they're long enough--normally I get a long whenever possible. The fabric is comfortable, the cut is both cute and functional. I wear a medium in nearly everything and the 8 fits great. I've only worn them a few times, but that's only because I've had them less than 2 weeks :) They have earned a top "grab them first" spot in my pants drawer.

Perfect hiking pant!

I absolutely love the colors, and style of this pant. Very comfortable when hiking and durable. The only thing is they run big and are very long to be a regular inseam. I just use the draw string and roll them up which stays put. I wish they came in a petite or something and then I would want every color. Ordered a zero. I’m 5’5”.

Good mountain pants

Warmer mountain pant. Great in winds and cooler temps. One trip and the fabric is pilling. Bummer. Good big zipper pockets. Weird thigh pocket; it wraps all the way around the leg. Waist belt is uncomfortable under a hip belt pack strap.

Perfect thickness!

Durable, light, and comfy - nice to have a slightly thicker hiking pant as so many are quite thin.

Poor fabric quality, pilling, and poor fit

I absolutely loved the old chockstone pants, and got 3+ years of wear out of them. However with the Chockstone/2, I wore them for a week of climbing and they had terrible durability - there is visible pilling and it stretched a lot. It also fits much more loosely / poorly than the old chockstones.
