Extremely low quality material - pilling and loose seems.

I read some great reviews online for these trousers. They fit perfectly and they are Extremely comfortable and at first seemed fairly wicked. I should have read the negative reviews. It seems mountain hardware changed the material they produced the chockstone pants with and now its extremely poor quality. Pilling was visible from first wash and couple of months later I now have loose seems.

Bad for Phone

I really like the feel of the pants but they have accumulated a lot of yarn knots and the pockets are too small for a normal sized phone. Whoa is me I know, but I’ve dropped my phone multiple times including cracking the back which is a total pain. Good for hiking but not for every day wear, which is not very helpful for me.

DO NOT BUY

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As other reviewers say, the fabric on these pants just doesn't hold up. They're super comfortable, but after the first washing, they started pilling significantly. Maybe this is possible to avoid by washing them by themselves as per instructions, but that is wasteful and unreasonable for active wear. Mountain Hardwear should be ashamed of selling this product, and SAC/Backcountry should pull it from the shelves.

DO NOT BUY.

I wish I'd read the reviews of these pants before buying them. They're super comfortable and light weight. But I wore them twice, then washed them and ended up with pilling as described by many other reviews. After washing I read the washing instructions and see that the expectation is they are washed in cold water, by themselves, on a gentle cycle. No thank you, Mountain Hardwear, that is not an acceptable requirement for activewear/outdoor gear. I've had and loved lots of other MH gear over the years, but this is super disappointing.

Wanted to like them... wanted to.

Bought these pants for a trip up Rainier. Out the package the fit was great and the material felt super comfortable. Unfortunately this is where the good review stops. After on 2.5 days of use these pants have an incredible amount of pilling. Every friction point of my harness and all through the gusseted crotch, the fabric has been compromised. I definitely cannot recommend these for their advertised use. I would not buy these again until MH fixes the fabric issues.

Terrible material

I love and have several pairs of the original chockstone. I love the fit of the chockstone2, but the material is cheap. It pills after one or two hikes. Would not take them on a trek; they would be worn through in a week.

Poor quality

Looked very good out of package. After washing them piling make them very cheap. Wish I wouldn’t have bought. Quite dissappointing

good fit, poor quality

I bought these with a refund I received after returning a pair of chockstone pull-on pants due to major pilling. Decided to spend the extra money and upgraded to what I thought would be a nicer quality pant that would last with light outdoor activity, hiking and general wear. Well, I just received my new pair and they are pilling after the FIRST WEAR. They haven't even been washed yet! For this price, spend your money on something else.
