Camp 4 28L Backpack

On the larger end of Mountain Hardwear's daypacks, the Camp 4 28L Backpack is water-resistant for when it rains on your morning commute and holds up during travel and day hikes. The 15-inch laptop sleeve doubles as a hydration-compatible pocket so you can stay connected at work and school and then stay hydrated on your outdoor adventures.

The main compartment holds extra layers or books and has a key clip so you won't lose your keys during the bustle of your day. The front compartment has a zip pocket, drop pocket, and stretch mesh pockets with pen slots so you can keep your smaller essentials organized. This bag features two brushed-tricot pockets for safely storing items like phones and sunglasses. An adjustable water bottle pocket on the side lets you stay hydrated while the reflective accents keep you visible at night. The removable sternum strap has an emergency whistle.

Very accessible, light weight, versatile. Have used the north face recon for years, but found it heavy and the main pocket inaccessible when loaded. This checks all the boxes. nearly fully zippered access but still has a water bottle holder!

Best backpack I’ve owned in a long time, won’t go back.

The perfect day pack

I’m so impressed with this bag. Super solid build and seems durable. I love everything about the design. My laptop fits nicely even in its soft case and I can fit everything I need for a day of work out in the bush in it!

Umcomfortable shoulder pads. Wide spacing. Returned.

Nice bag but returned it. The straps are too far apart for me and felt likw they could use some more padding for the size of bag. Wish i could have liked it.

Sturdy and great quality

Bought a few weeks ago, have been very impressed with the quality materials used. It is very sturdy and should last a very long time. I saw some reviews that said it wasn’t big enough for a 28, but I’ve found it quite large with tons of pockets. Great pack

Has become a favorite of my packs. Mostly used to carry everyday for work but I’ve used it for several quick day hikes to which it performed above my expectations. I’ll also be using it to carry small items when traveling & as a personal carryon item.

Everyday carry pack for work but also multipurpose

Awesome backpack!

This backpack is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I wanted something with a decent amount of capacity but also a lot of organization for my daily commute. Love the variety of pockets this backpack offers, and it’s a big bonus that it’s waterproof, which is super helpful living in the rainy PNW. I also am a big fan of the expandable side water bottle pocket - I love that it can be adjusted to keep a smaller water bottle or thermos snug or expand for a larger one. Thanks Mountain Hardwear for making this!

Too small

This is small for a 28. Won’t fit my MacBook Pro either. Really frustrating.

Awesome everyday pack

I am in school and got this for everyday use during the winter months. It is comfortable, spacious, and so far has held up very well in heavy rain. Seems to be made of durable materials, so I'm excited to see how it holds up over the years. Looks really cool too!

Perfect EDC/carry-on, tried vs. Burton Multipath, Cotopaxi, Topo, and others

I tried 5 different packs and settled on this. Zero regrets. Great balance between wide open space in the main compartment and organized space throughout. I love the height and that it's sort of stovepipe shaped - makes it much more comfortable when full and hold its shape when it's not. I just tried it on flights on a 737 and a small Embraer and it fit under seats comfortably in both cases, once lengthwise and once placed widthwise. It could use strap keepers. I picked up a pair of the great Tom Bihn ones.
