- Q & A
Great sleeping bag for cost!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I took this bag with me on the last third of the thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail ( other sleeping bag not warm enough). This bag was great- the length was just right( I am 5'5") and kept me very warm in the below freezing temperatures of the White Mountains and beyond. It also compacted great in my backpack and was a reasonable weight for the trail (wish it was lighter but for the cost it was light enough). Great sleeping bag for colder temps for the price!
Great warmth to price ratio!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought this bag for my wife, who sleeps a little cold. Her old 15 degree Marmot pinnacle was wearing out, and we needed a replacement for car camping. This is just about perfect. I'd say it is too bulky and heavy for backpacking, but that was not our intended use. My impression is that it runs a little short. My 5'7" wife filled the "long" top to bottom, so if you're on the fence on long vs. regular, go long. The only negative I've noticed thus far is that it can be really difficult to get the zipper started (when reconnecting at the foot). After getting it locked in, zipper operation is smooth. I also couldn't get it to mate with my Marmot bag, but that would have been a nice surprise and wasn't an expectation when mixing brands.
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Picked this out to pair with the Bozeman Flame for colder weather camping. It's starting to warm up though so the jury is out on that count. Seems well made and the left to right zipper pairing works as advertised.
Overall a good bag.
I have been camping for five weeks using this sleeping bag. The weather has ranged from 50 degrees at night down to 25. This bag is perfect for weather down to about 38-40. If it is any lower I have to double up with a 30 degree bag on the outside. If you absolutely had to sleep with only this bag you could just throw a hot water bottle in a sock and throw it into the bag. The bag is really comfortable. I'm 5'2" and I have tons of room. I can even sleep on my side and not feel uncomfortable in the bag. Another thing to be aware of is the size when it's compressed. I have a 60 liter pack and even with a compression sack I have trouble fitting the bag into the bottom area of my pack. Overall it's a good bag. It's comfortable and it will work for most camping situations. None of these things are complaints. Mostly just things to take into consideration.

I don't see any reviews for this bag online, both on backcountry and MH website. How is this bag different from other 0 degree bags from MH? Thanks!
This is designed to be MH's affordable cold weather bag. While not as packable and light as a down bag or the Hyperlamina, it is much cheaper than those options.
Comfort limit: 17
Lower Limit : 3
Up to what height is this bag suited for?
The size Regular will fit a women up to 5'11'' but even at 5'11'' it might be good to look at the Long since that'll be for women up to 6'4'' or 6'5''
Shoot me an email with any questions!
I just bought this bag and there's no way a long would fit a women up to 6'4''/5''.
My wife is 5'2'', 130lbs and a long just fits her and she wouldn't be comfortable in a regular. I'm 6'1'' 175lbs, and the long is very cramped for me. The women's bag is sized very small.
