    Warm sleeping bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I expected this bag to bulkier than it was based on the reviews. It's as light as the specs suggest (ie lighter than a car camping bag, heavier than backpacking bag); the sack it comes with, however, is generously sized so I put mine in a compression sack.
I camped with mine in sub 32 degrees (which was not in the forecast) and was quite warm with long-johns, a thin fleece blanket, and a foam sleeping pad. I expect this bag would work indeed work to 20 degrees.
finally, I'm 6'1" and fit in a regular length bag but the hood sometimes ended up covering my eyes. I still prefer the regular length to the tall.

    Warm and cozy

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I run cold and like to be hot when I sleep and this bag did the trick. Its perfect for early spring or late fall trips for me. I've not used it for backpacking, but its perfect for throwing in the back of my car for a weekend trip.

    Great Bag

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

The quality of this bag is really nice, it's warm and functional. It says the max user height for the long version is 84" (7') I do not feel that is accurate, my boyfriend is just over 6' and he only had a couple of spare inches at the bottom.

    car camping especial

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this bag for car camping and love it . For a synthetic bag it actually packs down pretty small and keeps me perfect temp throughout any night i have put it through from spring and fall times to some hotter summer nights

    Great winter bag

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this bag for my trailworker husband because he needed a bag durable enough to handle daily use in somewhat dirty conditions.H e likes to change positions in his sleep and the wide cut of this bag makes that easy. He has most recently used the bag for winter hitches and feels that the bag is accurate with it's temperature rating. It kept him warm even when there was ice inside the tent. He also said the zipper has the smoothest pull and is the most snag-free of any bag he's ever had. One thing to note is that the listed length in the product specs is the length of the bag, not the maximum user height.

    Not for Back Country Camping

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I received this sleeping bag and ended up having to run to the store last minute before my trip to buy another sleeping bag. I would not recommend this bag for backpacking because it is heavy, does not compress, and takes up a lot of valuable space in the pack. Seems like it would be a good sleeping bag for the cold nights if you are car/RV camping at a campground and do not need to lug this thing around for 4 or 5 days. Ended up returning product. The one I replaced it with is another Mountain Hardware made of Down, not heavy synthetic material. It is much lighter, compresses, and kept me warm.
