- Q & A
Great Bag, A Little Short
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
To start, the material of this bag was extremely comfortable. It packed up fairly small in its own bag but there was plenty of room to get smaller if you had a nice compression sack. It felt very rugged and durable while still feeling soft. I took it out car camping up in the mountains near Salt Lake and was extremely warm and comfortable when the weather got down into the low 40's. I really loved the bag, the only weird part is that it seemed a little short. I'm 5'5 and the regular size should have been plenty long. However, when laying fully extended, my toes were scrunched up against the bottom which caused the material around my neck to be pulled down and let the cold air in. If I bent my knees to the side, it worked out okay, but any other position and there just wasn't enough material. That being said, I think the long size would be perfect and I'm stoked because, despite the weird sizing, it's a really great comfortable bag.
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I am 5'8'' and I was on the fence about whether I should get the regular or the long bag. I went with the regular. It arrived yesterday and the bag seems great in general, but it was too short for me. When I lay down inside it, the hood part fits snugly over the top of my head and my toes are a little scrunched at the bottom.
If you are 5'8'' or taller, and like a couple of inches of toe room, I recommend going for the long bag. I'm going to return my for a long, because other than the size issue, it seems like a great bag.
