Unreal for the price. Will be using for years

Seems to be extremely well built. My ski buddy has an arcteryx and he was commenting on the quality of this jacket. It fits well, I'm a L in all my shirts and outerwear and a L fits perfect. Only things Id change is the pit vents aren't that long, be nice if they were longer. The inner pockets aren't very big as mentioned in other comments, but I never use them anyways. And I wish it had the snap to keep the hood down like MHW other jackets have.

Not getting what you think

This jacket was supposed to have the RECCO reflector system in it. And it did not! The fit is tight, but the quality is good

Slim design

I'm 5'9", 165 lbs., med. build, and had to get the Large because the Medium was too snug around the mid-section. The jacket has a slim cut, so if you like bulky, loose fit this may not be the jacket for you. Nice construction, lots of pockets, very waterproof, but I'm a little concerned that the main zipper, which is small and fine-toothed may not hold up, and it's a little harder to get started than a more robust one, especially when it's cold and icy. That being said, I'll trust that the seller stands by the product if it fails. I'm not a fan of huge (non-detachable) hoods on ski jackets, but since they all seem to be made that way these days, I won't down-grade this one because of it.

Very good, but not perfect

TLDR - exceeded my expectations, which are very high. Has a few flaws, but for the sale price I paid this was a great purchase. The good: -Extremely waterproof (make or break in the PNW) -Robust material. I'm not worried about tearing it on tight tree runs. -Excellent waterproof zippers, including the two way main zipper (a small but appreciated feature). -Tailored cut. Much less boxy than other coats I have owned. It's also long, which I like. -Powder skirt is snug with a generous amount of gripping material (so it actually keeps snow out of the coat). -The collar is very high, so when you zip it all the way up it really covers the lower half of your face (great for windy chairs) Could be better: -The interior pockets are oddly small and high up inside the coat. You can shove goggles in them, but not comfortably. They are definitely not "drop pockets" like my prior coat had (for skins, extra goggle lens, even lunch bags). I guess that's the price of the coat not being as "boxy" as I'm use to. -The hood is snug. You cannot get it on or off when wearing a helmet unless a significant portion of the zipper is down. It's just not easy to do. Also, the high collar I like does have a downside - you can't breathe if you don't unzip that before dropping in. -The strings dangling from each zipper are useless with gloves on. I replaced them all with actual rubber-tipped zipper pulls. -My prior coat (Northface Brigadine) included a detachable microfiber wipe in the "pass pocket." I miss it (used it a lot in variable conditions to clean my goggles). Just a thoughtful feature.

Exceeded expectations in Utah and Whistler.

Great jacket! 5’10” 190lb in shape male. Used the jacket for backcountry skiing and for hiking. It held up in all the conditions Park City and Whistler had to offer. Held up well against snow, rain and wind. It was a little tight with lots of layers. Helmet does not fit completely under the hood but this was not important to me.

This jacket rocks. Highly recommend! It’s a nice durable shell that lets me layer how I see fit.

Really good but not great

I bought this shell for resort and cold backcountry days. Overall I’m really enjoying it so far but it’s far from perfect. Pros: The two chest pockets are large enough for skins or anything else you need to stow. The soft material is very durable, wind proof, and warm. The zippers and vents are easy to use. It is long and has enough room to layer without being too bulky. And it is remarkably light and packable for what it is. Cons: The internal mesh pockets have a small opening that hold a beanie but not much more (which I don’t mind, but if you want to stash skins it will be tight). The hood is strangely small even when adjusted fully out and might not fit over a helmet, especially if you have layers underneath. Because of that, the neck opening when zipped fully isn’t big enough to block chin or nose from the wind. The biggest drawback of this shell is that you can’t remove the powder skirt! It’s tight and grippy, and can ride up your base layers or puffy when both buttoned and unbuttoned (especially if you’re boot packing or skinning). I’m actually considering cutting it out of the jacket. For reference, I’m a 5’10” female 155lbs and bought a medium. It’s a little big on me and the sleeves are plenty long, but I intentionally wanted a loose fit for this jacket.
