The Mountain Equipment Gangotri Jacket is one of our favorite jackets to throw on when pushing it in the snow due to its lightweight, unobstructing style and warm fleece interior. Made with POLARTEC Thermal Pro fleece, the Gangotri Jacket is super warm and moisture-wicking, while cover-stitched seams throughout improve our overall comfort. Plus, an elastic hem allows us to cinch up the bottom so the cold wind stays out.

Clothes shopping online: can't try 'em on, so it takes caution and care. Certain makers stand above the average, and it paid off to order this MH Gangotri jacket. Importantly, it's fleece is the respectable Polartec Thermal Pro stuff (good weave, performance, and "feel" to it), which has a bit more than medium thickness, so it feels warm w/o stiffness, promising long wear. It's proportions are good: I got an L, which is OK alone, but big enough to layer atop 2 shirts; the arm and tail lengths are generous, and the collar, made with two thicknesses of fleece, stands high enough for some neck warmth. The zippers are strong, not undersized or weak like others, and include pull cords/tabs. The hand pockets are roomy, and set above the waist, so don't create a bottom-edge bulge. The inner phone pocket is roomy and secure. There's a webbed front inner lining. The jacket bottom edge is wrapped and elasticized, and it's wrapping carries up the front zipper to the top of the collar, features which both help keep wind out. Stitching details are perfect; tight, regular lines and curves, and complete, not even a hanging thread anywhere. Altogether, the styling, materials, and construction sum up to a good-looking and versatile jacket.
