You never thought you could love a piece of clothing so much until you met the Mountain Equipment Men's Flash Hooded Jacket. Whether you're planted behind the wheel on a long road trip, warming up on a bouldering problem, or just relaxing on the couch, this hoodie's soft, quick-drying fabric will keep you feeling comfy. DRI-release fabric wicks heat-robbing sweat and dries rapidly to keep you warm and dry, and coverstitched seams won't chafe your skin when you're reaching for holds. The slim fit gives it a streamlined feel that's less likely to snag. Lycra-bound cuffs and hem prevent chilly breezes from blowing in and a Polygiene antimicrobial treatment keeps odor at bay during extended climbing trips.

    Comfort and Flexibility

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I saw this on sale and liked the look of it. The title of the first review I saw was, “A Hoody To Live In”. That’s an enticing headline. I was looking for something light that didn’t take up too much room. I like to travel light and was flying one way to Burbank to pick up a car I’d purchased and drive it back home to Oregon. It was drizzling that morning and my cheap flight was at a gate where there was a lot of remodeling going and required a long walk outside. Drizzle turned to rain and the wind kicked up so I pulled out the hoody to live in and kept it on for the whole flight. The first part of the drive home was warm, but around Redding the weather started to change. It remained dry through most of the Siskiyou Mts. and when I stopped to have a better look at Castle Crags I ended up putting the hoody back on and I wore it all the way home. I wasn’t sure what the color would look like on, but I like it. It’s not bulky. I can’t say I’ve put it through the wringer, but it’s versatile, comfortable and while I might not live in it, I like it very much.

    A hoody to live in!

I have literally lived in the Flash Hoody since I've had it..... Mountain routes, bouldering, work and long haul flights have all been tackled! It feels like cotton but dries like a technical layer so it's just as comfortable to climb in as it is in town. The hood is just big enough to go over a helmet on hanging belays and provides critical protection for airport bivis.
