Stretch and send.

Long approaches, committing cruxes, and brushy exits are all in a day's work for Mountain Equipment's Comici Men's Pants. Their stretch softshell fabric is wind- and water-resistant, and is durable enough to deal with everything from bushwhacks through thick stands of oak to long shimmies up granite slabs. An active fit reduces bulk, while the slim-fitting ankles allow you to see exactly where you're placing your feet during those spicy class 3 scrambles.

Mixed feeling!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 36S
  • Height: 5'8"
  • Weight: 170lbs

Use: I received it a few days ago along with a couple of competitors. This one had the best feel of fit and flexibility. I wore it since every day on out on the walk, on the trail, at work, in the mall, and everywhere in between. Washed it once.

First the good:
- very versatile pants
- extremely flexible
- great water repellent, as soon as it arrived and I tried it out, I went to the bathtub and poured water using handheld shower. It rejected water like plague. I didn't even feel sogginess afterwards.
- feels great to wear
- good looks, not very techie to look at
- wearing it in December of North East without a thermal speaks volume of its wind resistance
- made of light and thin material but seems so far adequate for the 30s 40s 'F range temps without a base layer
- great everyday use pant, for first few days it made the crinkle sound but not anymore
- another BIG plus point, the material does not has any smell to it, like those typical rubbery smell from nylon or poly active pants

Ok I may now sound like I'm ME's employee here which 'm not so here's being objective here.
Now the reason for 4 stars:
- after only normal less than extreme wear of few days, I see a couple of small threads popping from the knee area joins, I trimmed those popping out susing the kids' scissors but I was not expecting this kind of workmanship on this brand. I hope this is just adjustment wear and tear and would stabilize soon after.

Perfect pants for summer

I was looking for a lightweight, comfortable pair of pants to hike and travel in. These are perfect for that. I know they are designed as climbing pants, but seems like they'll be great for any outdoor activity.

Super lightweight, compact down really small. Easy to throw into any bag for a trip. These will be my go-to for backpacking, travel, hiking.
