    Smooth as silk.

Super smooth and scary soft, the Mons Royale Original Women's Top is as good for casual afternoons as it is for on-mountain layering. It's made of 100% merino wool to keep you warm, dry and, comfortable, has thumb holes to make sure your sleeves stay in place while you're riding, and a slightly longer cut for plenty of coverage when you're making moves.

    Soft Merino

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a staple in baselayers. It's super soft and warm and the merino is key for moisture and odor wicking. The thumb holes are especially handy when layering, and the design is leaps and bounds above other baselayer long underwear looks. This is one I'll wear on warmer days as it does not have a turtleneck.

    Perfect base layer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I have about three of these I rotate through as ski base layers. I wear them over the singlets and they're perfect. It's a more slim, girly cut so it's not baggy or too long. It fits under a mid layer without bunching, and is super warm. I love it. It fits super true to size- no need to size down for a more slim fit.

    New Favorite Baselayer!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This is my first Mons Royale product, and I love it!! I had heard good things, so just got this baselayer and it is perfect. I usually have a hard time deciding between small and medium because I don't want the arms to be too short, but the small was perfect. I'm 5'6" and about 135lb, so these are pretty true to size or maybe a order smaller if you're right on the line.

This baselayer also has a cool design so it'll be perfect for apres ski this season. The wool is soft and warm, comfortable for the whole day. And I love that the neckline isn't a tight crew neck! Definitely will be getting something else from these guys. Keep it up!

    * My wife Zoe wrote this * I love love love Mons Royal products. This is just one of two tops I ordered from them for an upcoming backpacking and hiking adventure in the winter chills of Iceland and Norway. Their stuff is perfect for this - 100% merino means very warm and cosy, and practically odorless. I have worn mine for a short while now, and it holds up perfectly. Moreover, my husband bought quite a few Mons Royal tops and leggings (for snowboarding), and they have lasted a whopping THREE YEARS, and still look as good as new! He swears by them. We both wear the base layers as outer-layers sometimes (the top is not see-through at all). The woman's tops fit nicely, they are soft and medium weight fabric with a little shaping but kinda slouchy for a comfortable fit, they have enough room for larger boobs too (sometimes a problem with thermals). Overall, they make the best quality NZ merino you could find in outdoors-wear.
