    The Perfect Shirt/Jacket Layer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large

I bought this shirt to have a warm layer for skiing or just wearing around town during those frigid Utah winter days and this shirt did not disappoint. I normally wear a Medium but sized up to a Large to wear it over my baselayer when skiing and to just have it be a little lose for those around town days. It is a thicker shirt so it's great for those bitter days as a layer or it can be work as a jacket for slightly warmer days. The wool does have a bit of a rougher feel than other merino shirts I've owned but not so much that it would stop me from recommending it. It's quickly become a staple for me this winter. The best part? The angled hand pockets!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just got this "shacket" (shirt + jacket = shacket)and I have some initial thoughts. I saw one of the other reviews posted that it is itchy. I would echo this sentiment but I don't think it's designed to be worn alone. It's a great jacket for warm winter and cool spring days or to be worn with a shirt under it for maximum comfort + cool factors. I think this jacket will get a lot of use during spring riding. It fits a little bigger than a standard flannel and I plan on wearing a thin sweatshirt under it to ride in. One of my favorite features is the hole for headphones in the left hand pocket!
10/10 would recommend to a friend.

    shirket? jirt?

awesome, awesome garment. the fabric weight is heavier than most wool shirts I've owned before, so you can wear it on its own on a brisk autumn day, but it's still flexible and fitted enough to fit beautifully under a coat when the temp drops. the front handwarmer pockets are perfect. I'm very long-torsoed and have big swimmer's shoulders, so finding women's shirts that actually fit me in the shoulders is almost impossible, but this one fits like a dream, without being all loose and baggy around the waist. i would buy another of these in a different color in a heartbeat.
I can't speak to its itch factor because I have a very high tolerance for wool --I can even sleep relatively comfortably with super-prickly wool army blankets next to my skin-- but to me it seems like a very soft wool that wouldn't trouble anyone unless they were highly sensitive to wool.

So torn - great idea in theory, but....

Very itchy was one thing I will say, second the sizing was a bit off for me (I could maybe try the small or XS, but they aren't available, so I went for my generalized medium size). Sleeves are long - so great for those of us humans with longer arms, nice big buttons, it's a thick top and for sure would keep you toasty even if your not moving around very much! I think it might look better on me with sleeves rolled up and maybe worn open (unbuttoned) with a cami or other top underneath. Size is a bit big, but I could see that this would look like and seem like a "cozy up, kind of big" top. In the end, the fit was not good for me, and it was way way too itchy for me to keep. I hate giving low stars, but this one has got it.

Hi Maritza! I am so sorry, I didn't get a note that you asked a question....I personally would recommend you try the small first. I'm both a medium and small (depends on the product! like half and half), so I am sorry I can't help with that...and my weight - I don't know it. I'm sorry about that as well. If I were to purchase this again, which I so think I might (LOL), I would try the small and feel pretty confident in the fit before I got it. If you are normally a medium (like mostly mediums in most things), medium might be a good choice. Please ask more questions or for clarification if you need!

    So itchy!!!

So, I just got this product in the mail and I am super unimpressed. It is so darn itchy I don't think I can wear it unless I'm wearing a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. I'll definitely never wear the collar up around my neck because it's so itchy. I can't really justify returning it as I just paid $70 in duties and taxes (shipped to Can). Overall, very unimpressed with this product.
