At Least I'm Trying

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'll admit I'm certainly part of the problem in this world of single use plastics and other grotesque levels of waste. That said, I do try my best to avoid plastic cutlery because not only is it terrible for the earth it's also terrible for eating with and breaks on the time... so win win! Carry this kit around with you and not only will you be chipping in to help the planet, you also won't have to try to cut through that monster burrito with a flimsy fork and knife that snap in half on your third bit.

I already owned camping silverware that could have filled this same purpose, but it just doesn't feel great. Built to be light and thin for camping, not the same as eating with real household silverware. This kit is rad because it looks and feels a lot more like regular household silverware you'd use at home.

If you had a convenient pouch that fit your current home silverware you could also just fashion this kit from stuff you already own... but I personally did not have a fork and knife sized neoprene carrying case laying around.

Surprisingly awesome

So I got this and thought it was just something that would get used once and a while. But I carry it in my work bag, so it is basically with me whenever I travel, or sit at my desk... And I have used the utensils A TON! feeling like I am nearing the break even point on the energy consumed to make it and where it outweighs the carbon of single use items. I love that chopsticks with their textured ends so you can actually grab slippery items. You could just go steal some cutlery from your parents house, or you could up your game and get this. Either way, you are saving the world from disposable crap. Do your part.
