Great at first, then a lot of flats

I used this as my rear tire and liked it for the first 1200 miles. Then I got 5 puncture flats in a month...I'm looking to replace it now. It is easier to put back on the rim than some other tires, which I am now excellent at doing. The wear indicators show a lot of wear left on it. It rides smooth and quiet.

I got these hoping they'd be a happy medium between the great flat protection of Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires and the significantly lighter, grippier, more comfortable tires such as Continental GP4k or Specialized S-Works Turbo which do not give much flat protection in comparison. Sadly these tires don't seem to excel at anything. Grip is just ok, especially in the wet. Flat protection is barely better than a full on race tire, as anything and everything seems to poke right through the relatively thin casing. I don't know how they can market this tire as having extra flat protection. I've ordered a new set of Marathons and will be scrapping these even though they probably have 90% of their life left.

These tires are solid! They work very well in all types of surface and ride really smooth. Still have yet to get a flat on these and hopefully I don't jinx it. Solid tire for the price, highly recommend!

This tire is money!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I put a tough century on it, right outta the box. All kinds of surfaces...smooth tarmac, knobby asphalt, concrete, dirt ruts, gravel roads--the usual conditions for my weekend ride. The ride was smooth, speedy, and very comfortable. I was rolling the 28s, with Kenda tubes, and pumped-up with a few extra pounds. This tire looks great, too. The chunky-white Michelin font on the tires, is an eye-wowza. In the smaller sizes, i would have no problem making this my main training tire, or even a race tire, excepting possibly for time trials. That said, i bet Michelin, probably makes a race version in this family.

I just didn't feel safe riding on mixed surfaces with my 23s, so I opted for these in the 25 and can definitely feel a difference in shock absorbance.
