Safe Tech Waldo Harness

The most comfortable part of a multi-pitch day is the hanging belays when you're wearing the Safe Tech Waldo Harness. Say goodbye to lost circulation with extra thick waist and leg bands that will make your next big wall suffer-fest feel like an afternoon in a hammock. These monstrous components spread the load of your weight so you can focus on gear management, not the bruises starting to form. With dual front belay loops, organizing your gear while hanging and waiting for your turn to climb is a breeze. When your turn is up, you can confidently send knowing that you will be safe with non-directional tie-ins that maintain their strength even if the rope is routed incorrectly.

almost perfect....but too large

I loved the 2 belay loops and firm gear loops but alas the harness was too large for me! They don't seem to make an XS. Too bad.

Absolute best for route setting

From the perspective of a route setter these are the best and other setters I've worked with agree. I have to spend most of my time hanging in the harness and the other 10% of the time trying out moves. A burly chest harness is more comfy but you can't really work hard moves wearing those. This is comfortable enough to hang in for a couple hours at a time. The gear loops are full strength for clipping into the wall at weird angles to find the perfect angle to remove a tight hold. Two belay loops because sometimes it's nice to have an extra. Extra gear loops because you've got to carry so much crap up the wall with you. There isn't really an other harness like it and it's much better than every other climbing harness for route setting. I have used it climbing outside a few times when I'm in a bind and I need an extra harness and it is admittedly bulky for some climbs outside. I can see how it could make a tight chimney just a bit tighter, but you do definitely appreciate that cushion while belaying for an extended period of time. In a low key setting where I'm belaying kids or teaching a friend it's my preferred harness. The thing is like climbing with a sofa to sit in, actually comparable to the comfort offered by a bosun chair. It's definitely not the harness I use for projecting, but for 50% of the climbing I do, and 100% percent of the gym work I've done this is the best by a wide margin. I'll be buying an other one here soon once mine finally wears out. I've been using it for about 4 years heavily and I'm excited to get a new one.

Comfy but Bulky

This harness has so much padding, which makes it super comfortable when hanging in it all day, but makes it so bulky to pack and climb in. I end up choosing my other harness over nearly every time. I like the adjustability in it, the padding, and the fact that even the gear loops are rated, but the bulk outweighs those points (pun intended).
