I got these Rock Rings for my boyfriend (and let's be honest, so I could use them :P). We've had them for about 5 months so far and they've been great. My initial impression of them were, holy crap, they're heavy! They're a little over 2.5 lbs each. They make your bag heavy but don't take up very much space so they're very portable. We live in an apartment so he put them on his door frame mounted pull-up bar and just wrapped the rope around a couple times to make them hang higher off the ground. I've got tiny hands so the pockets are a bit deep for me to crimp, but I can use them as pretty much normal juggy closed hand holds. He has bigger hands but since the pockets are deep he has stated he uses them as jug holds as well. I often use these for off-set pull-ups to increase my finger strength, I'll hold on the very top which offers a jug hold with one hand and do 2 or 3 finger active hangs or pull ups with the other hand. Overall these have been a great addition to our at home climb training.

Portable and Functional

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I got the rock rings to supplement training between climbing gym visits. Very easy to set up on a tree branch, hook in a beam or play ground equipment if you are out with the kids. Comes with some basic workouts for either the Rock Rings or Hang Boards. Definitely a nice purchase and something different.

Great for Arms and Core

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are great for training because they not only work for pull-ups and finger hangs but the fact they hang makes you work your core to keep everything stabilized from swinging all over the place. Do those leg lifts and feel the burn.

Love 'em!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are great for training. The fact that they can rotate is much more forgiving on your body. I hang two of them via runners from my tree. The pockets are nice and deep. I just googled up a rock ring workout and a few great ones popped up. I've noticed improvement in my climbing, more specifically endurance for overhang sections. Also, the price is very acceptable for how much improvement is made with them. Pretty blown away by the amount you can do with these guys!

This a great supplement to your work out routine.Easy to set up anywhere. I have mine attached to the outside garage roof, using eyebolts fastened to the roof joists. Then using a carabiner to clip. Works out help reduce elbow injury by rotation of the cord. The Finger holds are confortable for average hands and deeper than expected. There were no instructions for set up(optimum position for shoulders) and no workout instructions. But work out routines can be found online at their website.

Bought a pair of these for myself, and a pair for a friend for christmas. He loves them just as much as I do, great way to train at home when you don't have time to go to the gym, or outdoors. I would highly recommend this product!

Portable training

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave this to a friend for her birthday and she is so stoked. She has a hangboard, but can't set it up in her room because of how low the roof is over her closet and room door. These definitely solved her dilemma. And now, after hearing all about them for days after, I'm thinking I need to grab some for myself!

Great training tool

I enjoy using the Metolius Rock Rings! They are the perfect, portable way to get a little bit of hang board style training in without needing a full hang board. I hang these off of my pull up bar that is mounted on my door frame. It ends up being a little low, which is not a fault of the product, but the nylon chord on the rings can be shortened to give quite a bit of adjustability. The rings have a good amount of texture. They’re not too hard on skin, yet they still have enough grippiness. Yes, that’s a word. The rings come with ideas on how to use them and there is a good article on the Metolius website here: http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/training_giude_rock_ring.html

Great Training Aid

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

There are no climbing gyms where I live, so when the weather doesn't play nice and I can't get to a rock wall, I at least have these to train on. They are great for improving contact, upper body and even core strengths. With great portability at a low price these are an excellent addition for any climber.

Pullups in the shadows

My garage is the only place I could hang these bad boys, but I walk past the inner garage door every time I enter the kitchen, so I've been busting out 20-40 pullups a day, between snack breaks, for two weeks now. Wife is pleased. DO IT.
