F.S. Mini II Jet Carabiner Set

Pair each biner in the Metolius F.S. Mini II Jet Carabiner Set 6-Pack with the color-coordinated cam and climb in style. Metolius updated the F.S. Mini II Carabiner with a larger gate opening for better clipping while climbing. Alpinists can appreciate this sequel's lightened weight, while sport climbers can gain confidence with the flared nose that reduces accidental gate openings. And every climber will love that the F.S. Mini II has a less expensive price tag for this season.

First impression

Super light and compact. Vibrant colors. Haven't had them out yet I'll update this in a few weeks or so.

Super light!

I've used it several times

I have 1 set of BD cams and I bought some BD oz. 'biners for them because they're strong and lightweight. Now I'm building my 2nd set of cams and I've gone with Metolius. I just bought a pack of these Metolius mini 'biners and so far I love them. They're even lighter than the BD oz. biners and the colors match the Metolius cams which is cool. The downside (if you want to call it that) is the small size of the mini's and the smaller gate opening. But lets be honest...if you're using these mini 'biners for your cams, how many times do you directly clip the rope into the cam 'biner? I guess I do more wandering routes, so I'm always using a quickdraw or alpine draw anyways and don't even clip the 'biner I have on the cam itself. And even then, I quickly got used to the smaller gate opening when clipping the mini biner. Overall great product if you're looking to color match your Metolius cams and drop some grams from your rack.

Awesome lightweight carabiners

I've put it through the wringer

I love these carabiners. I use them on my alpine rack and for routes with extra long approaches. Doesn't take long at all to get used to clipping the smaller sizes, and they really make a difference when you use them for a full rack. Super light, just as strong as full size carabiners, and the color coding with black diamond cams is pretty easy once you get used to black on .4 and orange on .75.

Small Gate

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

4 Stars on this carabiner just due to the size. They are super lightweight and have a great snap on the gate. But I found them to be a little small for me, getting my finger and a rope through the gate proved more difficult than anticiapated. Solid carabiner, and super light, it does not match your rack of BD C4's, since metolius makes their own cams so you may have to get creative with the color coding.

Baby Biners

These little guys prove to be really strong and stay nice and out of the way. I have total confidence leaning on them. They make it easy to sort gear too

Perfect size

I didn't realize that these were the small ones when I ordered, but they are actually a perfect size and are pretty light. I don't trad climb yet, so I just got these to have extra biners, but I use them to carry around water bottles, shoes, chalk bag, etc., and they work great.

Keep It Organized!

I've used it several times

So we all have our cams memorized by color well these little guys match up with the Camalots and will help you keep your cams in order whilst climbing! Not only are they good for organizing they are light and small so you don't have a TON on excess weight. Seriously if you are JUST getting into the trad game get a pack of these for your rack and you'll be grateful! No mistaking a #3 or #1 cam in the middle of your climb because you are mixing up colors.
