    Tape

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

    Yup...it’s tape! Does the job.

    Enjoying this tape

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've started the long painful process of learning crack climbing. And this tape is saving my hands from even more pain. I plan on using the rolls I bought till I'm out, and I'll probably buy some more.

    Great tape!

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Gets the job done, good fat roll. Also comes in a variety of colors!

    Climbing Gloves

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

When you have baby's-butt-soft-hand or your stick-clip rapidly collapses on your friend's finger, this will make you the hero of the crag. A++ tape that you might even want to use just to make it look like you send hard.

    Strong, grippy, easy to tear

This tape is high quality and is easy to tear for taping in between fingers. Saves your hands from blisters, happy with it so far!

Strong, sticky, and overall rad tape!

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

While I'm not a huge outdoor climber, I have loved using this tape for both indoor and some outdoor problems. It is strong, lasts well, sticks well and doesn't stretch a ton (which is a pro in my books). Metolius did an excellent job developing this and I'm stoked to get to continue to use it! Also pro tip, use a razor and cut around the circumference of the tape to create an 0.5 inch and a 1.0 inch strip... very beneficial when taping fingers!

    Easy tape.

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

This tape is probably overkill for my kind of climbing, but it works great! It's also about 1.5-1.75 inches wide, I believe, but since it's easy to tear it's easy to get narrow strips.

    Durable and Great Tape!

Think of this tape as the Leuko-tape of climbing tape. Super sticky, easy to tear, affordable, and its Made in the USA. What more could you ask for?

    >Rating: 4

    sticky.

This is some good tape. It sticks well enough and it is easy to rip so you don't need scissors to cut it.

    Awesome

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This tape definitely holds up! It is durable and I love the colors it comes in! I feel like it is so much better than just the regular white tape. Super sticky and you do not lose grip while climbing! My go to tape for sure!

    Handy

This tape holds up. Does what it should!

    Saves the skin

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

If you have terrible technique and try way to hard like I do, you're pretty happy you have this stuff wrapped around your mitts saving your skin allowing you to climb longer then you otherwise would have.

When you have to tape, this is it

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Leave the grocery store athletic tape at the grocery store. When you're taping up to climb you want tape meant for climbing. Burly and sticky. This does both.

    For crack climbers

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Reusable tape. One roll can really last.

    >Rating: 5

    Durable

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This tape is tough and can withstand a lot of abuse before giving out. I usually get multiple sessions out of each glove I create. Also, this tape saves the day when a blister strikes! The added texture to the tape is also nice for creating some bonus friction on those jams.

    Taping for the Climb

Here Beth Rodden walks us through a couple ways that she tapes up for the climb ahead.

    not eurotape, but great tape

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is the second best tape imo, but now complaints, it still gets the job done

    >Rating: 5

    It’s for your hands.

You can never have too much climbing tape! This metolius tape is great; sticky, easy to tear, and it protects your hands! I think the Trango Eurotape is just a little bit stickier, so I generally prefer that, but this definitely does the job!

Which is better or do you guys prefer tape...

Which is better or do you guys prefer tape or chalk?

Tape and chalk serve different purposes. Tape supports ligaments and protects hands from abrasive rock. Chalk keeps the hands dry so they don't slip off of holds. So, there really isn't an answer to your question.
