Moab 2 Mid Vent Hiking Boot

When push comes to shove, there's no real need to conduct a complete overhaul on the beloved Women's Moab Boot. So instead, the designers at Merrell equipped with Merrell Moab 2 Mid Vent Hiking Boot with a few new features that simply improve the shoe rather than change it robustly. To start, the Moab's upper has been updated with a waterproof, performance suede that prevents moisture from infiltrating your socks. Additionally, the shoe now touts a Speed Band for torsional support and stability as you navigate varied terrain.

In keeping with the original design, a bevy of mesh inserts offer passive ventilation, while the bellowed tongue keeps debris at bay. A protective toe cap safeguards your foot from trail-side obstacles, and the M Select FIT.ECO footbed is equipped with zonal arch and heel support, as well as a Merrell Air cushion in the heel for added impact absorption. Not to mention, an EVA midsole attenuates shock and prevents foot fatigue, and the Vibram TC5+ outsole maintains subtle, yet substantial traction underfoot.

    • A revised, classic hiking boot fit for long day-treks
    • Suede upper is waterproof and durable
    • Mesh inserts provide passive breathability
    • Protective toe cap safeguards foot from obstacles
    • EVA footbed and midsole attenuate shock
    • Speed Band offers torsional support and rigidity
    • Vibram TC5+ outsole touts 5mm lugs for traction
    • Item #MER00EC

    Best boots I've ever worn

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I cannot say enough good things. Bought this boot and the effects were immediately noticeable. Barely any breaking in period. Hiked a few days and by the time I took a longer, 8 mile hike one afternoon, I can honestly say the warmth, comfort, durability, and overall quality are top notch. I received the beginnings of some end-of-toe blisters on a longer hike that never panned out, which may either indicate the boot size is too small or there's not enough support around the foot arch, but that remains to be seen. For now they've been a great buy

Great boot, just not for my achilles

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

OK first, these boots fit and feel great, and are high quality. I only wore them around the living room though because I had trouble getting used to the height of the back of the boot. I'm one who doesn't like pressure on the back of my achilles tendon at all, and the angle on this boot was a bit too shallow, so it rubbed there. Everything else was perfect, but this. So I'm writing this review to let you know if this doesn't bug you, or if you WANT a boot that is a little higher on the back for some reason, you'll love them! On the other hand, if you're like me, I wanted you to know so you could look at other options. I returned these, with the expert help of customer support, and tried three others (which I'll review also): Oboz Bridger, Oboz Sawtooth, and Keen. Ended up ordering the Sawtooth.

    Perfect Gift!

Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I picked these up as a Christmas Gift for my mom who has been trying to put more miles on the trail. She lives in NM and says the venting has been great so far. We will see what summer brings!

    Love!

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Best hiking boot I’ve ever loved! Beautifully cushioned around the ankle, very supportive. Laces easily. The mid and heel cups your foot perfectly so that your toes feel free and weight is evenly distributed. Love the grip of the soles. After I got these, I loved them so much I went back and bought Merrell work shoes and low hikers. Fit true to size for me (size:9, medium width, even though I have a slight hammer toe on one foot, not an issue)

How is this different form Moab 2 mid waterproof, if the description of this pair is "Suede upper is waterproof and durable".. just a little confused. Let me know if you can help

Hey Ash! The Moab 2 Mid Waterproof has M Select Dry membrane that seals out water. This makes the entire boot waterproof! Whereas the Merrell Moab 2 Mid Vent Hiking Boot has a waterproof treated suede.
