Heavy shoes when hiking needs better arch support

Not my favorite boots
I don’t love these as much as my other Moab hikers. For some reason, these aren’t as comfortable as my higher Goretex winter Moab boots, and the arches don’t feel quite right. Not sure if I got an oddball pair, or if they are just weird. They seem a bit too soft for carrying a backpack, and are adequate for day-hikers. I would not wear these on a multi-day trip, even though they are lighter than my leather Goretex boots

these were the 3rd or 4th pair or Merrells that i've had probles with. Heel fell off these.

BEST BOOT I EVER OWNED.
I am a diabetic and therefore very careful that I utilize only the best foot gear every day, whether I am doing my daily 4 mile walk with the German Shepherd, or taking day hikes. This particular boot comes in wide width, and in at least the 8 years of my first pair, or the months of using my 2nd pair, I have never had a blister or wear mark on my feet from this boot. It is the only thing I wear, and totally waterproof.

Great shoe with one small drawback.
Great shoe. Very comfortable and a pleasure to wear. One drawback. The one makes a weird flopping sound when you walk. I guess it has something to do with the insert for the sole. Not sure how to correct this one but otherwise a great shoe.

comfortable for all day long hiking and hunting trip. Kept my feet dry in the snow and mud. Great pair of boots.
