This is the 3rd pair of Merrell Moab GTX shoes that I have purchase because I really liked the first 2 pairs I had owned. I've walked lots of miles in those shoes and currently walk about 30 miles a week. The first 2 pairs were extremely comfortable to wear and fit my foot just right. I wear an 11-C so I am usually very easy to fit. The shoes showed wear on top, but I kept wearing them until the bottoms got too smooth for the steeper hills. The 3rd newest pair was totally different and made much narrower. I was told there should be no difference, but when I compared the soles, the new pair was much narrower in the toes and came to much more of a point than the older pairs which have much more rounded toes. I tried to break them in for about 3 weeks, but the toe area was just too narrow and they ended up giving me blisters, which I never get. I had to return them. Investigating a bit, I found that the first 2 pairs were made in China, but the newest pair was made in Vietnam. Obviously they changed manufacturing plants and they changed the shoe. No more Moabs for me. I'm giving Keen a try.

Well made hiking shoe, true to size. Did not require any break in and is incredibly comfortable. They are light for what they are yet still feel like they built like tanks. Tthe gore-Tex has been performing as expected keeping my feet dry.

These shoes are the ideal outdoorsman shoes. I wear these everywhere, on the Appalachian Trail, on fishing trips to Canada, and around town. I love that they are waterproof! You needn’t fear when you see rain on the horizon, because the GORE-TEX in these shoes will keep you totally dry.

Great feel

Good for, true to size! My old Moab’s wore out after a long time, finally got around to getting another pair! Happy I did!

I have just used running shoes for hiking for years because I need support for my flat feet and like the feel of a shoe over a boot. Thought I'd give these a try. Performed better than I thought. Still had support, the stiffness of the soul (and sole) is nice. My only hope is they don't stop making it so I can always use it.

I really do love this shoe. I have had them for at least a year now. Probably longer. They have been a great summer hiker. Love the sole and they breathe very well. Size 13 with medium width, and they fit great. Long term test results, Other than the rear destroying the rear cuff ( my fault for trying to shove my foot into it while laced ). The shoe has held up great and am prepping to buy another pair.
