Superb Shoe

These shoes provide excellent support and fit. Great for walking and plenty of space in the toe box as well. The Goretex helps keep your feet dry when walking on wet grass, or trails.

Finally!

I have been looking for a trail shoe that is true to size, has good support, with a decent tread, light and waterproof. I think I have found it. I average about 8.5km (5.3miles) a day and they are still comfortable after a month. With the Gore-Tex, they are warm in the summer. One last thought - I went up a half size from my previous purchases (Merrell and others) and the shoes fit perfectly. I wish Merrell would come up with a reliable size guide for online shoppers that shows foot length and width.

Evolved

I bought these to replace my Speed Solos, which had a long and glorious life. These are a bit more refined, classier style, and some clever features. Comfortable out of the box, fits is the same as all my previous Merrell shoes. I have not put them to the test yet, but they now have about 10 miles on them and they are exactly what I was looking for - comfort and stability over long distances. Hopefully the gore-tex will extend my season into rain and snow.

Slipped and fell

No traction, I slipped twice and fell once. Very disappointed and these weren't cheap

Nice shoe!

This seems like it will be a great shoe. True to size and the fit its good. Looks like it is made well. The one thing that is a bit different than most others is there is a higher rear sole. When your first trying them on it seems like your a bit more in a toe down design. Meaning your heel is higher than your forefoot. Not a bad thing for running. But something to get use to. A thick sole gives lots of cushion to absorb heavy use.

Love this shoe!

Put this shoe on, right from the box and wore it comfortably all day! The outside sole tread is extra cushy and felt a little odd for a few steps, but then felt perfect! This shoe is comfortable beyond belief!

Very speedy hikers!

The agility peak 5 Gore-tex is a hybrid between Altra Mount Blanc and Hoka Speedgoat. I used them for an outdoor hiking trip to the Crater Lake region in Oregon two weeks ago. I got compliments from other hikers. I hiked a trail that had moderate to high elevation gain with loose lava rock. They felt comfortable both on my way up and downhill. They have good threads on the outsoles that secure every step of the way. They are light and offer some toe protection. They have great cushing and you feel the terrain changes with eact step. I have not been able to use these shoes in The rain yet or in snow conditions. So far, I feel they were a great purchase and I am satisfied with the quality of the Agylity Peak 5 Gore-tex.

An adventure!

I was fortunate enough to join my first ever trail run and we got to demo these. They felt great on, lightweight and bouncy, with plenty of grip on the bottom, which as a novice, I was very grateful for. However, the ground was wet, which proved to be the perfect environment for an intensely comical adventure. As we started our first incline, the secret mud magnets were activated and each sneaker accumulated 10lbs of resistance. I imagine Merrell engineered this feature to help you achieve superhero status in trail running. Being a beginner, I got to watch all the pros ahead of me trek up the mountain in what eventually turned into snow shoes. I laughed so hard I couldn't move, which was good because I needed to tighten my laces to keep them from becoming one with the earth. As the adventure continued, we encountered lots of little creeks we had to pass which was fun because these sneakers are perforated at the toe so soggy socks initiated! Once we completed the run we had to use firehose grade water pressure to remove the mud but they did rinse nicely. Such a fun experience and honestly, the grip gave me the confidence to tackle whatever terrain we encountered. Thanks Merrell! Pro tip (beginner): bring extra socks!
