    Get a grip.

Imbued with the lightweight versatility to effortlessly handle everything from floaty, loose trail to fast-rolling hardpack, the Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C/Double Down/TR 27.5in Tire is a go-to choice for downhill and freeride adventures. The DHR borrows the shoulder lugs from its sibling, the DHF, for a slightly wider stance than the OG DHR. The center lugs, which were once completely separated, are now nearly joined for a bit of a paddle effect. Together these improvements mean better cornering and improved braking, especially in loose conditions.

Maxxis' Double Down dual-ply casing construction provides slightly heavier, downhill-worthy protection compared to EXO. While this does add a bit of weight, it makes up for that small compromise with increased durability through hard-charging runs and heart-dropping descents.

    Sweet tire

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Have been a big fan of the DHR minion for most of this season here in Utah. Does great in all conditions, has great braking power and handles high speed corners with ease. The double down casing seems to add a week or two of life without much of a noticeable weight difference.

    Rear tire

I replaced my high roller with this on my rear tire. So far I've like this tire, it does not roll as fast as the high roller. I notice I don't have as much carrying speed. But the grip and control are solid.
