A loyal trail companion.

Tackle muddy, technical rocky descents with confidence on the burly Maxxis Minion DHF 29in tire. Designed for aggressive riding, the Minion is enduro bred to bomb through a range of terrain and trail conditions, and in keeping with its namesake, loyally stick with you while you're navigating challenging lines.

The Minion's triple compound construction suits it to rugged, enduro rides. It relies on a firm, durable base layer topped by two progressively softer layers to keep the tires glued to the trail when conditions get slippery and loose. We like the way the softer layers pair with the mix of directionally ramped center knobs and tall, channel-cut knobs along the sides to keep rolling resistance low on fast straightaways but grab quickly in tight corners.

Between the dependable 60 TPI casing and the tubeless-ready construction, you can also count on the Minion to not bail if you hit an occasional rock or frequent rock gardens. With this mix of features, whether you're riding through mud, loose dirt, or any messy mix of conditions, we'd count on this tire to barrel through it all without hesitation.

Grippy in the wet stuff!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This has hooked up great even in the wet muddy stuff that spring has left me with where snow has melted. I think I've found my new favorite front tire! It's strong and the sides have already stood up to some abuse from rocks and a wreck. Overall I'm way stoked on it and will buy it again!

I've put it through the wringer

This is my all around favorite tire in all conditions. But now you can also go wide tire! Which feels better... cuz it’s wider

Get the grip

I've put it through the wringer

I don't know what took me so long to finally try out Maxxis tires after being on Schwalbe, Continental, etc. The DHF is my go-to front tire for Utah and has proven super durable with loads of grip in any dry conditions. We don't get a ton of wet weather to ride in, but in my experience the DHF isn't fanastic in the wet (as most tires), but was predictable. I like to pair this tire with an Aggressor double down rear tire.

Great Front Tire

I've put it through the wringer

I'm using this for a front tire on my trail bike. Great all around tire. If you want low rolling resistance probably look elsewhere. However, not bad in that aspect given the more aggressive tread.

The Best!

I've put it through the wringer

I ride these on both my front and rear tires. It rides so well in all conditions. Also, once you get these rolling, they roll fast! I have even seen xc riders cruising on these in the Foothills of Salt Lake on 120mm travel bikes.

Perfect Enduro Tire

I've put it through the wringer

Being from Arizona, it's very rocky and where it's not it's sandy. I often compare it to trying to get traction on a bed of marbles. These tires instill confidence and let you rip trails that make others tip toe through.

Sweet and Sticky Tires

I've used it several times

Very happy with these tires so far... they have great traction. Loving them.

Pretty close to perfect

I've put it through the wringer

Can we call this a classic yet? For as long as I can remember, the DHF has provided the best blend of traction, durability, and speed. Whether you ride DH, all mountain, trail, or even some aggressive XC, the DHF is going to give you what you need. Feel free to contact me to chat about your rubber choice at 801-204-4556 or

Awesome tires!

I needed the right tires for a bike trip to hood River Oregon. These tires handled everything from post canyon, mount st Helens, Sandy ridge and trail 44. Never falling short or wanting for more these tires rocked! Highly recommend and would buy again.

These wheels are the best for cornering and harsh terrain in all weather conditions and tracks. Maxxis for life!!!

DHF & DHR - a match made in paradise

I've put it through the wringer

When I first started biking I only rode Vittoria tires (formerly known as Geax Tires). On my new SC Hightower I decided to check out Maxxis and so stoked that I did! The tread pattern and the burly knobs on the shoulder of the tire make for a perfect tire that can climb, rail corners, roll over anything and slay that "brown pow." My only complaint (if any) is the rolling resistance on these. Due to being a burlier tire meant for enduro riding they are definitely a heavier tire. If you are looking for something more "XC" the ardents and/or Ikon's are a great choice as well. Paired with my DHR and a Minion SS (as the next tire) these are a perfect combo. For the riding in Park City that can get a little loose and technical, these tires freaking kill it!
