Ksyrium UST Disc Wheel

Mavic is known as being both an incredibly inventive brand, but also stubbornly traditional. The Ksyrium UST Disc Wheel demonstrates both tendencies. When Mavic embraced disc brakes and tubeless setups for the road, they took the rim profile from its staid classic, the Ksyrium, and made it disc-compatible and UST ready. Similar to its rim brake counterpart, the Ksyrium UST Disc is for endurance riders and self-sponsored cyclists who log considerable training miles to prep for a big racing weekend. It's durable enough to handle being ridden regularly on inconsistent roads, or on the occasional gravel bike path. But, it's stiff enough for punchy rollers and long climbs.

The SUP welded Maxtal aluminum Mavic uses to construct the 22mm-deep rims gives them the type of lightness you'll want for an everyday wheel, along with the durability to take on miles of weather-beaten shoulders, chip-sealed side roads, and the rare smooth stretch of freshly-paved tarmac. Of course, the 19mm internal width rims being tubeless ready means you can enjoy a reduction in flats as well as the ability to run lower pressures that imparts additional grip and comfort. When you need to slow down, the disc brakes stop with consistency and dependability, engaging with authority and modulation through a mix of weather and road conditions. Though both hubs come with 12mm thru-axles, Mavic gives you the option, and extra end caps, to swap out to quick-release axles on either end.

In total, 24 straight-pull steel spokes link the reliable aluminum rims to Mavic's workhorse ORM hubs with the front and rear wheels laced in a two-cross pattern. The sealed bearing ORM hubs these Ksyriums are built up with lack the on-bike micro-adjustability of their dear ORM+ counterparts, but they're designed with the same tolerances for a lasting, smooth ride. They also feature Mavic's Instant Drive 360 freehub for fast engagement and durability. Mavic includes its 11 storm compound 28mm wide Yksion UST tires with 127 TPI as a supple and versatile all-around tire to start you out on these wheels, along with a sealant syringe, sealant, tubeless rim tape, UST valve and accessories, and a user guide.

What do you think about this product?

Are these XD, or XDR compatible? I'd like to run a SRAM cassette. Thanks, Bryan

This rear wheel comes with a microspline hub, so you can run some SRAM cassettes with it like SX/NX Eagle cassettes on it.
