Brave the elements.
You know the weather looks unpredictable, but the longer you sit inside looking out the windows, the more ride time you're wasting, and the Mavic Ksyrium Pro Men's Vest helps equip you for whatever may come. Shoulder-season cycling—or even summer riding in the mountains—is often rife with days of fast-moving storms and pop-up showers. You've about had it with long winter afternoons spent on the trainer, though, so you'd rather brave the elements than bail on a ride outside. We don't blame you.
Fortunately, gear like Mavic's Ksyrium Pro Vest won't weigh you down when the sun is shining and it's stuffed in a saddle pack or jersey pocket, and the vest's Warm Shell Rain ST fabric will block wind and rain when the weather takes a turn. Whether you're on a gusty summit or caught in a brief shower, the vest's streamlined fit and stretchy inserts allow you to throw it on quickly, and it features two pockets to store essentials you want to keep relatively dry and protected.
Mavic purposefully designed the zipper to sit off-center to allow you to tug it open or closed with one hand, and it added reflective accents to help keep you visible to other road users on dim, overcast days. It's finished with an Exo Grip band of elastic to hold the bottom hem of the vest securely in place.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
I live in the south, so the winter is pretty mild. My Castelli Gabba 2 stays in the drawer for much of the winter. This fits the spot between wearing a jersey with a base layer and going up to the short sleeved Gabba.
Similar wind protection, but a slightly shorter collar. The back is mesh in the middle, which I could not tell from the pictures, but I like that. Chest pocket will hold a folded cue sheet or some money. The back pocket has no dividers. Packs down small enough to fit in a jersey. I'm 5'11" and 145 lbs. I bought an small and it's in the race fit category.
