Ksyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc Wheel
While the rim brake version of Mavic's Ksyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc Wheel basks in the limelight garnered by its excellent iTgMAX braking surface, these wheels sits smugly by its side with a similar full-carbon rim construction and the incomparable stopping confidence of Centerlock disc-brakes. With a few extra spokes to manage the additional forces of disc brakes, the Ksyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc brings renowned Mavic reliability in a lightweight package that pairs effortlessly with your shiny new disc-equipped road frame.
Mavic uses 3K carbon fibers to shape the rims in a blunt profile. Mavic constructed it specifically with climbing and endurance in mind, so the 32mm-deep wheels are dependably stable while riding in crosswinds and tackling winding, long ascents. It uses a NACA inspired rim shape that helps minimize aerodynamic drag while the reduced inertia, thanks to that lighter weight rim, delivers excellent responsiveness. Mavic also paid close attention to the wheels' impact resistance, which earned high ratings, ensuring the wheels will be able to withstand long days on chip-sealed roads and weather-beaten shoulders while you're dreaming of glass smooth tarmac.
Though it tends to privilege tradition, Mavic's Instant Drive 360 freehub shows it's not afraid of well-executed change by updating these wheels with its latest ratchet ring engagement system. The design is centered on a 40 tooth, dual ratchet construction that boasts a quick nine degrees of engagement. This marks a significant step forward for factory-built wheels because it features the kind of responsiveness, low drag, longevity, and easy maintenance normally reserved for third-party hubs on hand-built wheels.
The Instant Drive 360 hubs also feature more reliable, no-contact seals as a barrier against damaging road grit, and they save a claimed 40g compared to its FTS-L hubs. The new hubs are laced to the rims with 24 double-butted, straight-pull, aero steel spokes arranged in a two-cross pattern on the front and rear, drive-side and non-drive side. This pattern provides the right balance of stiffness, preparing the wheels to manage the added torque from disc brakes and with stiffness and stability while braking on steep descents.
The Mavic's Ksyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc Wheel includes Mavic's 28mm wide Yksion Pro UST tires, with 11 Storm compound for increased cornering confidence, more mileage, and a fast rolling ride. The tires receive a nylon breaker from bead to bead flat protection. The wheels come packaged with QR and 12mm adapters for the front hub, as well as 12 x 142mm and QR adapters for the rear hub, sealant and a syringe, rim tape, a user's guide, and valves.

Good luck if you need to install a tube
- I've put it through the wringer
These came on my Canyon Endurace. As already mentioned in another review, these wheels only fit the Mavic tires and maybe some other UST tires, which means Continentals, and many other favorites won't fit even with a pry-bar and massive effort. Even the Mavic tires require a lot of effort to fit and I broke a fat Pedro's yellow tire lever putting on a tire. Good luck if you need to install a tube on the roadside. On the plus side the wheels are pretty tough and roll nice. Flex isn't too bad, though the rotors do rub slightly when stomping up a steep grade. They are easy to handle even at high speeds with wind buff, despite the rim profile. 28mm tires fit them oh so good. If only Mavic would make their rims the same size as everyone else so they could fit more tires, and possible to install a tube on the roadside....

I have Canyon Endurace CF SL DB 8.0A DI and was able to put continental GP 5000 32. It was somewhat hard to put it on, but it was possible. Unfortunately it can't be done with bare hands. The main thing to do is to align the the tire bid to the center of the rim, which has a slight cavity. But I agree it is a) hard, and b) can't be done on the road.

Good wheels for the good price
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Got these wheels with the new Canyon Endurace bike. Wheels are very light and comfortable. Ordered Continental GP5000 Tubeless and they worked. Very satisfied with the wheels.

Don’t even think about it!
- I've used it several times
This set doesn’t work!!!! They only fit a few tites and even if they’re supposed to accommodate clinchers (as all other tubeless do), they don’t fit this model. They are light, fast and beautiful. But they’re useless for any serious rider.

Is this one wheel or a wheel set?
