I bought the Peahi Sunglasses on the Maui Jim reputation. I have owned other glasses that just aren't in the same league. I was looking for a good Amber type lense, and like the yellow hue. Not since wearing Vaurnets have I had a pair of glasses that protect from glare, provide clarity and protection while enhancing whatever it is you may be looking at while wearing them. Whether it's ocean, mountains or desert, I feel great wearing these glasses. They are large, and block out all light pretty much. Light weight and great optics what more could you ask for.

Great Sunglasses....

I bought these to combat migraines in the mountains.....However, they are VERY WIDE and VERY HEAVY!!!! I have a pretty big head, but these were just a touch too big. Also, they sit close to the face and fog up easily. If you have a larger head and face but your cheeks aren't too big, these are for you!

Very Good Polarized Option

The Maui Jim brand name carries with it the fact that the optics, especially in water use, are unparalleled. That remains that case here with the Peahi where the underwater visuals where crystal. The weight was definitely one of the lightest I have tried as well along with having a comfy frame feel. The only downside is the same one I had been finding in a few sunglasses with this frame design, the lens height. Those less concerned with sun coverage, then ignore this. But, the height of the lens I felt needed a bit more for coverage purposes. For those with shorter eye sizes, welcome to optical heaven.

Love them

Really take out glare better than other sun glasses I've owned. They also really bring out colors. Easy to look through all day. I've heard these lens are the best in the industry, I got these to prevent migraines, worked so far.

Which color of frames did you get? I get severe migraines due to the sun and need to get a pair? Would you recommend these?

These are ideal sunglasses in many ways. They have been good for driving, biking, hiking, skating, baseball, all in very sunny weather. The coatings are durable and the lenses dark, some of the darkest on the market. The waterproof coating has been useful. The form of the lenses and frames particularly help to cover the entire field of view, particularly well at the periphery, where many other sunglasses fail. The only drawback is that these frames are glossy, so the central part of the frame provides a significant amount of stray light. That is, when I look to the side, I see a lot of scattered light with my outside eye. That's just poor frame design--these should be available with a matte finish. Otherwise, the frames are rigid and seem durable. They frames are somewhat large for my face, so I might consider a smaller frame, even if it sacrifices coverage at the periphery.

Which are bigger Maui Jim Peahi or the Maui Jim Canoes?

The Maui Jim Peahi is slightly bigger than the Canoes. Also, the Peahi has glass lenses, while the Canoes is Evolution. Both are polarized though. I wear the Peahi and love it!

They wouldn't be too bad. In fact they'd be great. They're a little heavier with glass lenses but they'd work great.
