    Great Fit and Style

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I picked these up for using both casually and actively while hiking and climbing. While I haven't been able to really put them through their paces yet I do really like their initial quality and subtle detailing. The long gusset in the crotch and the articulation in the knee make the pant super comfy for walking or sitting. And the leather knife patch on the pocket is a really nice added feature. I'm excited to see how these preform as a town to trail pant but so far I'm really happy with them. I usually wear between a 32-34 waist and a 34 length I went with the 34 and they fit me great. They are longer than a lot of other options out there that only come in one fixed length.

I am similar size to you but 6'0, and normally a 33. I just bought size 32 and they are TOO SHORT and a little tight on the waist. I am curious to see it the 34's are any longer. Would you be willing to measure the pants from top to bottom? It would really help my situation out! Thanks!

Nice pants - different fabric per color

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 187lbs

I bought these pants in the slate gray and felt they were the best fitting most comfortable jeans I'd ever owned. I'm a cyclist with decent size thighs and butt, but a smaller waist. These pants didn't have the annoying gap in the waist that I had to deal with for ever and the leg fit was spot on. I ordered the then in a different color, cavern, and the fabric is much thinner and the fit was tighter, which isn't all that bad, but it was not exactly what I was looking for. I'll buy the pants again, but may need a different size this time around.

    Decent Work Pant

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 160lbs

These pants will get the job done for sure. I picked them up to work in and have use them for about 2 weeks at the time of this review and they seem to be holding up just fine. However they are a little on the thin side fabric wise, so we'll see how long they last.

This pant used to be great

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 32 & 34
    • Height: 6'3"
    • Weight: 185lbs

Ordered my second pair after really loving the pants off the West Ridges I bought a little over a year ago.
Pants arrive. Way too tight. Sizing has clearly gotten much slimmer, though the length is the same. (Did I gain weight? Did the old ones stretch? It's possible, but not this much.)

This is annoying, but, no biggy, backcountry shipped me the next size up and offered free return shipping on 1 or both. Thanks BC.

I get the next size up (34) and what do I find? The larger size is Even Smaller. In the picture attached you can see that the 34 is a solid 3" SHORTER than 32.

Am I being messed with here?

Dear Marmot: I used to love your stuff, especially these pants. To quietly change the sizing on an otherwise identical pant is one thing. But to have such bad quality control is entirely another. With this level of respect between you and me, I'm not sure we can continue our relationship. How far into you does the rot go? To your manufacturers? All the way to your designers? It pains me to say but I just can't trust you anymore... [sheds single tear].

Somebody holler if I'm being ridiculous. I'm just out here trying to find a pair of pants!

This pant used to be great

I felt the same way. They must have updated the style in the last few years. The ones I got last year arnt nearly the pants I received before. As a note, I thrash these pants in the forests of Alaska for my job and the fit was perfect for climbing through brush all day. Now they went from work pants to skinny pants. They are no longer my favorite pants.
