Decent Work Pant
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
- Height: 6'2"
- Weight: 160lbs
These pants will get the job done for sure. I picked them up to work in and have use them for about 2 weeks at the time of this review and they seem to be holding up just fine. However they are a little on the thin side fabric wise, so we'll see how long they last.
This pant used to be great
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 32 & 34
- Height: 6'3"
- Weight: 185lbs
Ordered my second pair after really loving the pants off the West Ridges I bought a little over a year ago.
Pants arrive. Way too tight. Sizing has clearly gotten much slimmer, though the length is the same. (Did I gain weight? Did the old ones stretch? It's possible, but not this much.)
This is annoying, but, no biggy, backcountry shipped me the next size up and offered free return shipping on 1 or both. Thanks BC.
I get the next size up (34) and what do I find? The larger size is Even Smaller. In the picture attached you can see that the 34 is a solid 3" SHORTER than 32.
Am I being messed with here?
Dear Marmot: I used to love your stuff, especially these pants. To quietly change the sizing on an otherwise identical pant is one thing. But to have such bad quality control is entirely another. With this level of respect between you and me, I'm not sure we can continue our relationship. How far into you does the rot go? To your manufacturers? All the way to your designers? It pains me to say but I just can't trust you anymore... [sheds single tear].
Somebody holler if I'm being ridiculous. I'm just out here trying to find a pair of pants!
